Spreading the global 'Get yourself vaccinated' message takes many forms. Here is one such from down-under.
We go for our second Booster shots on Sunday, and frankly the NHS's handling of the vaccination programme hasn't been that different from this nice lady's translation. It's been a nightmare.
Stay proper strong one!
I think this is a piss take. Difficult to tell these days.
ReplyDeleteIf it isn't; it should be.
DeleteI suspect he really is a moron. It could be dubbed and she could be green screened but if it is it's a brilliant job.
DeleteI'm sure someone in Oz will put us in the picture. I'm pretty sure it's genuine!
DeleteNightmare? I don't know what you mean. Up here in Sheffield the whole vaccination process has run very smoothly - like clockwork in fact.
ReplyDeleteYou wouldn't believe the trouble we've had. They told us to ring 119 (I think), they told us we weren't eligible and to contact our GP. We contacted our GP and he told us to ring 119. We asked all around but came to a dead end. We have now (by chance) found a walk-in place (Waitrose car park) that we believe will jab us on Sunday.
DeleteHere we start with the fifth vaccine. This time it was done very quietly and I wonder why. I'll wait a little longer and see.
ReplyDeleteThis one will be our fourth. I wasn't keen on having it, but Lady M insisted.
DeleteOurs went like clockwork too. While there they said I could also have a flu jab at the same time, so I do. Perhaps you should move to Yorkshire away from the overcrowded and incompetent south.
ReplyDeleteOur problems go back to our having had our first jabs in France. The NHS have never managed to get their head around such a bizarre thing!
DeleteInteresting but I wonder if the translation was really needed.
ReplyDeleteIt sounded like Pidgin to me, and any Pidgin speaker can understand English anyway!
DeleteSounds genuine to me. Good on them.
ReplyDeleteWe are waiting for our fifth. Just had the normal flu jab
We've had our Flu jabs, these on Sunday will be our 4th Covid jabs.
DeleteAs I commented elsewhere when you mentioned the boosters on another blog, I cannot understand why Brighton and East Sussex get in such a muddle with this. In Norfolk it runs like clockwork. I received a text message when I was in Albania in fact offering me an appointment when I got home and I also received a letter two weeks later telling me how book an appointment. As your mobile phone is fairly new, does your surgery have details of the number? Much of the NHS stuff is firstly sent out by text message.
ReplyDeleteI've been telling my wife for ages, "just wait, they're bound to contact us"; but they haven't. They have all our details, but the main vaccine centres are now closed, and they seem to be in a total muddle. Lady M was told some time back that she could go to Tunbridge Wells for a jab. How crazy is that!!!
DeleteEast Sussex is a complete mystery then.
DeleteIn Scotland we just get a letter in a bright blue envelope with the appointment set....in our village
ReplyDeleteAll I know here is there will soon be a fifth jab available soon, and we are encouraged to get it. No mention of how soon, so we have to wait until our local pharmacy puts a sign by its door saying the vaccine is now available, then we go inside and make an appointment or get one right away if they aren't busy.
