Happy Birthday to Her Majesty The Queen.
With this image (above) so fresh in our minds, today will not be a day of celebration for Her Majesty. Her thoughts will no doubt be focused exclusively on the recent loss of her husband, Prince Philip.
However, I, like so many, wish her 'Many happy returns' for her birthday, and I send her my very best wishes.
Hear! Hear!
ReplyDeleteNot a happy day. A 95th Birthday should be a day of celebration, but not on this occasion.
DeleteYes, Cro, a birthday "should be a day of celebration". However, life does throw spanner into the works. Spare a thought for my dear most beloved grandfather - the man of many a smile, a twinkle in his eye - who actually DIED on his birthday?
DeleteU
We were just talking yesterday about a neighbour's father who died on their birthday. It's a strange idea, but a 1 in 365 chance.
DeleteEndorsed. I am sure she is missing him but how much time did they spend together in recent years? The photo makes me sad but unlike the pregnant one, how dignified did the Duchess of Cambridge look in the photo taken when she was in a car. She read the book, Being a Royal #101.
ReplyDeleteSomeone else had the book read to her, but she wasn't listening.
DeleteHappy birthday to Her Majesty ..... I’m sure she will still have a pleasant day with family, reminiscing happy times of the past with Philip and family. XXXX
ReplyDeleteI hope so.
DeleteNice try Monsieur Magnon but there's no way you will earn a knighthood with this post. Her Majesty probably doesn't read "Magnon's Meanderings" anyway.
ReplyDeleteShe does. Toast, marmalade, and wisdom from Cro, every morning.
DeleteAgree Cro, Happy Birthday to her Majesty. Interestingly...or not...the Queen's birthday was the last thing that was mentioned on the lunchtime news today, after endless items about football etc. The BBC have slipped up there!
ReplyDeleteWe all know the attitude of the BBC; it doesn't surprise me at all.
DeleteA very Happy Birthday to the Queen. I read she now has two new puppies to help her smile.
ReplyDeleteShe loves her dogs; it's something we have in common!
DeleteHappy Birthday to your Queen. She is an impressive woman!
ReplyDeleteShe's been an impeccable Queen. Never put a foot wrong.
DeleteI hope it is true that she has two puppies. I know how much she loves her dogs and did read somewhere that she had decided not to get any more because of her age.
ReplyDeleteIf they were to outlive her, I'm sure they'd be well cared for.
