Student portrait circa 1970.
Grumpy old git (unfinished) portrait circa 2004 (complete with cobwebs).
I wonder how long it'll take for her to get fed up with these two; no doubt they'll be back amongst the Spiders before too long.
A diverse offering twixt the interesting, the unusual, and the amusing.
I quite like those. Did you consciously choose the other profile for the 2nd portrait?
ReplyDeleteNot really, it was probably a question of light.
DeleteNow you need a third portrait, wise old man.
ReplyDeleteI've been meaning to do another, but...
Deletego on.....
Delete...yes do...
DeleteI think the second one captures you better than the first.
ReplyDeleteYou mean the 'grumpiness'? I was still young and flighty in the first one.
DeleteThe so-called Grumpy Old Git will be up there in the frame casting a critical and all seeing eye over happenings in the house.
ReplyDeleteAlphie
And frighten visitors!
DeleteI think the first one is more like you, but i might be wrong.
ReplyDeleteMaybe. I certainly enjoyed working on it more than the second one.
DeleteI like the first one better too.
ReplyDeleteI was more relaxed, I think.
DeleteThe second one reminds me of the front page of my brothers' copy of The Eagle.
ReplyDeleteWot? Dan Dare?
DeleteDan Dare with a beard.
DeleteHe had a big chin, and cheeky eyebrows.
DeleteI like them both, very much. I wouldn't be able to choose one over the other. The first in particular shows that Kimbo is very much like you!
ReplyDeleteYes he does look like me; poor boy.
DeleteThere's a bit of Captain Haddock from Herges Adventures of TinTin about them !!!!! .... very seafaring !!
ReplyDeleteThey are terrific ... Lady M obviously loves you very much !! XXXX
You should have seen our late neighbour; he and the Captain could have been twins.
DeleteI like them Cro.
ReplyDeleteThank you Jo. I'm a bit insecure about things like portraiture.
DeleteDon't be; methinks you're great!
DeleteAre you kidding!? Your grandsons would love to have these! All the cool stuff you do with and for them..., Better make some more, they'll be fighting over who gets them!
ReplyDeleteI hope someone will keep them, but one never knows.
DeleteAugusts John. That's the first one as you well know. Not so keen on the other one.
ReplyDeleteI'm a big John fan.
DeleteHe was very kind to Dylan.
DeleteThose are wonderful, Cro. Such talent!
ReplyDeleteYou flatterer!
DeleteI like them both.
ReplyDeleteThank you Jane.
Delete"They" say you should move your art around so you can see it with fresh eyes. That is true but after hanging it in the right spot I do not want to move it.
ReplyDeleteWonderful paintings.
cheers, parsnip
One painting that Lady M moved has certainly improved with its new location. You're right.
