Harvest Moon (Neil Young cover)
The grain harvests are mostly over here now, and the fields are filled with bales of straw. It makes me think of this song.
I love the original Neil Young version, but this foursome (Reina del Cid, Toni Lindgren, Carson McKee, and Josh Turner) do it great service too.

We used to stay in a gite near Beziers.Farmland all around. It was mainly cereal crops. When the Sun shone, which was most of the time, it made me sing "fields of gold" by Sting. I love his version and also the version sang by Eva Cassidy.
If I hear either I'm immediately transported to Bezier.
Don't play it too loud if you're feeling fragile this morning!
Songs can be very evocative, and what nicer way to be reminded of Béziers. Fabulous town.

I love almost everything Neil Young wrote and sung.

Those young ones did a marvelous job! I heard this song for the first time when you had it on your blog, I think it was over a year ago. It's now one of my favorites! TY.

My daughter took me to a Neil Young concert last winter. I had never had the opportunity before, and she said that because I had introduced his music to her (because I always had it playing in the house) she was returning the favor. It was a wonderful night.

Well I actually listened to it twice and then called up the Neil Young 1992 version. I hadn't heard it for a long time. I have to say that the cover version was really good. Thank you.
