Yesterday it rained and snowed. Not a huge amount, but enough to be annoying. Here is the front of our bijou home after some confused person had left their wandering tracks.
What could be better on a cold evening than a cosy blazing fire on the TV. Amazingly it did actually warm us up; or maybe that was the central heating.
It was Billy's birthday yesterday; he is now 4. He had a good run with his chums in what remained of the snow, then some treats for lunch. He's a happy boy.
I am not a fan of snow, or of rain, and the combination of the two is a nightmare. No more thank you!
Yes, the mixture of rain and snow (I believe it's called "sleet") is not the most enticing of weather conditions. Not to mention slippery slope.
ReplyDeleteFunny what you say about the "fire". Apparently, call me gullible, even lighting just a tealight makes you feel warm. Maybe they were talking about inner glow. But then, I suppose, we all make our own reality. What is one person's frostbite is another's celebration of the wonders of nature.
U
We have three scented candles on our 'coffee table', which we previously referred to as the central heating. We now use the real thing.
DeleteSomeone enjoyed making trails in the virgin snow. I can remember making footprints in the frosty lawn when I was young
ReplyDeleteI think it must have been a child who was happy to leave his or her footprints.
DeleteWe have about 3-4" here. Postman made it through but Amazon didn't. My money would have been on the other way around.
ReplyDeleteAll our delivery people are getting through OK, not that we have very much.
DeleteAmazon parcels can get nicked from the front doorstep if you are not careful. Phone message times for when parcels arrive are a godsend. As is of course signing for parcels.
ReplyDeleteForgot. Birthday greetings for Billy, glad he is happy in Brighton.
ReplyDeleteI have taken in about 4 parcels for my neighbour recently. He and his wife both work away, so we're happy to take them. Billy says 'thanks'.
DeleteNo snow here but plenty of ice leading to accidents and road closures.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Billy.
All gone here now, thank goodness, but still -3 C this morning.
DeleteThe footsteps are the perfect adornment to your bijou home. Happy Birthday Billy!
ReplyDeletePhoto courtesy of a neighbour!
DeleteThe footprints are evidence that your postman has been practising his Viennese Waltz while out on his rounds. Must be a fan of "Strictly Come Dancing".
ReplyDeleteThe greyness suggests that the name of your seaside city should be changed to Dullton.
I thought it was the Light Fantastic.
DeleteHappy birthday Billy. We have snow in the south East.
ReplyDeleteNone left here, and I don't think we're expecting any more.
DeleteCan't believe Billy is 4! How time flies. We have central heating but it never feels as cosy here as our log fire in France.
ReplyDeleteTry the log fire on YouTube. It really does cheer you up.
DeleteI do love it when it snows but after a few hours I've had enough. It is still SO thick here. It really does look pretty and so magical around Christmas time. But, I would now like it to rain and wash it all away ! XXXX
ReplyDeleteI'm not a fan of snow at all. I've never been skiing, and am not keen on mountains. It must be because I was a July baby.
DeleteRegardless of location, snow-rain mix with freezing temperatures is never ideal. Snow alone is nice for Christmas day. Happy B-day to Billy!
ReplyDeleteSnow is always disruptive, unless one is on the piste in Switzerland. I don't like it.
DeleteWe had the rain snow combo yesterday as well. Happy birthday Billy, although with Billy, it seems as if every day is a party in his honor!
ReplyDeleteEvery day is his birthday. We celebrate his every day.
DeleteThe tracks look like a child has made them. I definitely make a point to bundle up and go for walks; makes the cold weather easier to tolerate. And happy birthday to Billy! Thanks for sharing your beautiful pup with us these 4 years. I remember well the photo of the box that he arrived in.
ReplyDeleteWe often look at that photo of him in the straw layered box. He was such an ugly pup, but he's turned into a really lovely boy.
DeleteWe have rain here, a cold and wet spring, but thankfully it never snows here where I live. I am fed up with being cold though, so I'm sipping a mug of hot soup while I read blogs. Homemade sweet potato/pumpkin. Very warming.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Billy.
You have teddy bears around your tree! I love that :)
