Just to show you how quickly the Walnuts begin to turn black. The one's on the left were prepared on Wednesday (as in yesterday's post), and the one's on the right were prepared (from a different tree) this afternoon (Thursday).
I've done enough now, I should have supplies for two or three years at least! I still have some from last year.
All is well in Walnut pickle land.
I sure wish I could try your pickled walnuts!
ReplyDeleteHad no idea that pickled walnuts were even possible. Thanks
ReplyDeleteIf I have a buffet party I always have a bowl of pickled walnuts by the meats and cheeses. I love to watch peoples' faces if they have never tasted one before.
ReplyDeleteI just love your cooking post ! Must look at the Posh Market for pickled walnuts now.
ReplyDeletecheers, parsnip
Walnuts are driving me bonkers at the mo! We have found discarded walnut shells dotted all over our field, but we have never been able to find the tree! There is a little tree at the other end of the village, but these are all mature walnut shells. I suspect birds as I have never seen a squirrel locally, but never seen birds carrying them. Wish I could find it...
ReplyDeleteCro, I’m going to search out where to find pickled walnuts. I want to try one with some good cheese. Gabs
