During the pukka Summer months we de-camp to our outdoor room.
It's a little like going on holiday (without the inconvenience of travel).
Yes, there really is a room somewhere under all that foliage; we almost need a machete.
A diverse offering twixt the interesting, the unusual, and the amusing.
It looks wonderful. I hope the foliage doesn't damage the outdoor room.
ReplyDeleteIf anything, I think the foliage keeps it cool. It's mostly Wisteria, with some Clematis.
DeleteLooks good and cool
ReplyDeleteIt could be cooler, but I'd have to install a ceiling fan, and there's no electricity in there.
DeleteLooks very cool under all that foliage. I heard you've got high temperatures again.
ReplyDeleteI was trying to think what it looked like. Not a Hobbit house. A Smurf mushroom maybe. Very picturesque anyway.
DeleteNot as hot as yours! We're expecting 30 C today; I can cope with that.
DeleteDo Freddie and Bok wander in through curtains of flimsy voile?
ReplyDeleteThey do. Bok sleeps with me for my 10 min afternoon siesta, and Fred sleeps there at night.
DeleteIt looks like it's been there forever. Only seems like yesterday you were building it.
ReplyDeleteIt's mellowed well. It's all that foliage that does it.
DeleteAdd some Honeysuckle to it and you will get the perfume after the wisteria has finished?
ReplyDeleteNot much perfume anywhere, but I do have a Mock Orange bush nearby that is amazing.
DeleteI love it and I'm glad you always share it with us also, thanks to nature, every year the plsce looks different to the previous.
ReplyDeleteGreetings Maria x
I've now added a picture of how it was in 2011, just after we'd built it.
DeleteThank you Cro, in both picture it is beautiful. X
DeleteI am trying to decide if it should be Architectural Digest or Home and Garden Magazine. Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to have to do a lot of serious pruning this winter!
DeleteBeautiful and so green.
ReplyDeletecheers, parsnip
It has a lovely atmosphere, looking out through all the hanging foliage.
DeleteWith being separate from the house and having no electricity you certainly are going on holiday to a unique destination!
ReplyDeleteNo phone, no internet, no annoyances, full stop!
DeleteI seriously want one.
ReplyDeleteThat's what I used to think Weave, so I built one.
DeleteI wish.
ReplyDeleteWishes come true; mine did!
DeleteThe best laid plans of mice and men and all that Cro.
