It's in the air.

You can tell when Summer's not far off.....

Lady Magnon starts painting windows.

A bit of putty here, a bit of putty there, and a fresh lick of paint; she's a Jill of all trades.

All that remains are the outdoor metal table and chairs to paint (which she's now done).

What a woman!

  1. She is doing a great job. Like the reflection of you taking the second photo and the wisteria has lots of flowers.

  2. You are very proud of Jill, as Jill certainly is of Jack. That is a beautiful stone wall! I see the wisteria is starting to bloom, but I also see you have a lot of grass to mow in summer. All nice things don't just drop from heaven; there is a lot of hard work and lots of love that goes with it. Well done to both of you.

    1. You're right, there's LOTS of grass to mow. I do now have a ride-on mower, so it doesn't take too long.

  3. Methinks Lady M could make a nice little earner for herself - she's done a very good job !
How many other wives do these same tasks around the house?I know I do !

    1. She really got stuck in, and finished the job in just two days. I think she even surprised herself!

  4. She is amazing. I have metal table and chairs waiting 2 years to be painted. I like the metal gate.

    1. Our metal garden table had become a bit 'rustic'. I had to machine-sand the top almost back to the metal before it was smooth enough to paint. It looks 100% better now.

  5. I'm not so sure about this - Paul now wants to know why I can't get up a ladder and paint all the windows this afternoon.

  6. I do hope you were not lying on the lounger watching her work - but no, I seem to remember you were busy rotovating. When all those delicious veggies come along in the summer I shall be green with envy.

  8. How old is your Wisteria? I only planted mine last year - 'tis but a twig at the moment.

  10. As we were driving down to Florida last week, I saw mile upon mile of naturalised wisteria clambering up the trees beside the interstates. It was particularly thick around Birmingham, Alabama.

    1. Ours is much further out now than in the photo; I think it was taken four days ago.

  11. What a beautiful building. Getting ready for summer is what I am doing right now too. But no climbing any ladders for me.

    1. We have several guests arriving over summer; this is where they stay. Lady M likes to have it pristine!
