Trump has described Starmer as being 'No Churchill'. In fact Starmer has dithered so much recently that both the French and the Spanish have had to step-in to defend our presence in Cyprus. He's no Churchill indeed.
Meanwhile at home, a Hamas supporter has daubed paint over the statue of Churchill outside the Houses of Parliament. He has been arrested.
It's a very sad state of affairs when some a misguided fool should desecrate the statue of one of our greatest wartime leaders. It just shows how low some of these people can descend.
As for the UK/USA Special Relationship; our government is doing its best to distance themselves. We recently ruined our relationship with the EU, now we're doing the same with the USA. However, Tru*p is partly to blame by imposing crazy tariffs on our exports. Not a friendly gesture!
I also remember back in 1965 (?), when the USA were fighting in Vietnam, Lyndon B Johnson phoned Harold Wilson to enlist the support of the UK. Wilson refused, and said that he'd never heard such obscenities over the phone from a US President. The Socialists aren't too popular across the pond!
Sadly a country that once was a World Power-House, is now seen as WEAK. We need another Churchill. One can but wonder what Starmer would have done during The Falklands Crisis?
Yes...... Nothing!

Starmer is a very peculiar man or whatever he identifies as this week. We've been blessed with some numpties in Number10 but he is the most useless.
Your assessment is just about right. I despair every time I watch him on PMQ's. He refuses to 'answer' a question, and simply blames everyone else.
Greece has sent a couple of frigates and aeroplanes down to Cyprus too. Cyprus is Greek. We are now on Iran's black list.
The news came too late for me to include, but I see that Spain Greece and Italy have sent boats. Our boat (that we're supposed to be sending) won't be ready for another week!!! We once 'Ruled the Waves'.
What a sad excuse from a country that once ruled the waves. Starmer seems to me to be constantly confused and judging by the look on his face he wonders "what on earth am I doing here?"
I imagine he goes home every night and thinks exactly that! Labour's dumbing down policy is certainly working.
All this business about defending Cyprus is ridiculous - stirred up by the right wing and their newspapers. Unlike other European countries, Great Britain has a long-established military base on Cyprus that employs approximately 4000 military personnel. I salute Sir Keir Starmer for taking a wise position on Israel and America's illegal war against Iran and its people.
Yes, but luckily in the real world everyone thinks differently.
I do not like Starmer but successive governments have cut the defence budget back so much that we simply do not have the military capacity we once did. My husband was in the RN for 30 years, the ship he served on at the time HMS Brave took part in Operation Granby during the 1991 Gulf War and again he served on a 'hospital' ship during the Falklands War. He just shakes his head. We have no 'special friends' sadly, it's a joke!
"Everyone"? What about Pedro Sanchez PM of Spain for example? What about leading Democrats in Washington D.C.? It is we who are in the real world and not in Pete Hegseth's comic book war fantasy.
Not only the right wing but the paragon Lammy seems to agree with us. Having said that I doubt Lammy thinks at all not further than his next meal anyway.
I also have lots of admiration for Churchill.
Both the UK and US could use a Churchill right now.
Stammer might be at one end of the spectrum, but the Felon is also extreme. Plus, with the exception of Israel, he is burning bridges worldwide.
The Spanish have also sent planes to help Cyprus. I now hear on the news that it'll be TWO WEEKS before our little boat is ready to sail. It might all be over by then!
Yes, it's not just this lot who are letting us down, but at least Mrs T had some gumption. We need someone in power with GUTS; not this pussy-footing bunch we have at the moment. They are a disgrace.
The world is becoming fragmented, where it SHOULD be becoming more united. There are real dangers out there!
