Abandoned!

I feel abandoned.

OK, I have one grandson studying in Oxford, and another studying in Hertfordshire, but otherwise it's just me who's representing the Magnons in the UK. All the others are overseas.

Kimbo and Susie are in Egypt, Lady M, Wills, Boo Boo, and The Cherub are in Thailand, my daughter Tenpin is in Oz with her two boys, and my sister is in NZ; leaving just me to hold the fort, here in our ancestral home of England.

Like many families these days, we do tend to spread our wings. Even I (the stay-at-home-lad) have managed to live more than half my life abroad; even though it was not far away in Southern France. I quite expect that very few families have all the members 'at home' these days.

So, I've been making sure I descend the stairs carefully, cross the road cautiously, and do not pour boiling water over my feet. I don't want to be found having 'passed-away' without anyone knowing.

Lady M has been away for over a week, but will be home in a couple of days!

Glad to hear Lady M is able to get home in spite of the war.

Talk about an international family! And you have 2 grandsons at University in Britain! It must be lovely to know they're near, even if you don't see them very often. Kids that age have a life of their own. I know that mine do.
My family is widespread but not as much as yours.
Do behave yourself. You need one of those things you hang around your neck and press the button in case of emergency.
So Kimbo did get to Egypt. Hope they're enjoying themselves.

We're not yet sure if there's any fuel for her 'plane.

I would be worried if the 2 UK grandsons were doing anything but enjoying themselves.
I've only received one photo so far, but the Egyptian beaches look as beautiful as I'd imagined!

Ah well, you'll soon be off to sunny southern France!

Never mind, Lady M will be back soon. As a lifelong dedicated singleton I never feel abandoned. Maybe get those brushes cleaned up and paint a picture. Or you could take up a new hobby like litter picking ;-)

Yes, it won't be long. I'm looking forward to it.

I already do 'litter picking', but I do wish I didn't have to!

Poor old Crozier! They have all deserted you. Have you considered using underarm deodorant?

I remember Dad telephoning, just a bit anxiously, to ask if we had heard from Mum, and if /when she was coming back, from her visit to her sister in Australia.

I am simply undesirable.

That sounds familiar. My worry now is for aircraft fuel. I've heard that in Thailand there is a shortage. We shall see!

Not the same I know but at least you have us lot to communicate with. Hopefully Lady M will soon be back if there is fuel, fingers crossed.

You right Carol; it keeps me sane! Yes, I'm sure she'll be back as expected.

Could it be safer not to fly anywhere at present?

They would prefer to not find you decomposing when they return home.

As long as you're flying due West at the moment you're probably OK, but not to the East. However, my son arrived in Egypt OK yesterday.

Cro Magnon said...

So would I. Not a nice thought!

If gas is a problem, Thailand would not be the worse place to be stranded.
I'd be more worried about getting around in the Middle East.

She's not said she's being grounded, so I must presume all is OK. I think it's more the Petrol for cars that is a problem.
