If your idea of a fun holiday is to board some sort of floating Benidorm, then this if for you!
This cruise ship (to be launched next year) will be the world's biggest. It will have 5,610 passengers, 2,350 crew members, 19 floors, 20 different styles of restaurant, 40 bars, 7 swimming pools, 9 hot tubs, and is 5 times the size of The Titanic. I believe it also has a huge waterfall. What fun people will have.
Just looking at the above photo makes me feel ill. It appears to be a cross between The Costa del Sol, Disney Land, and Barby's bathroom; could it be any worse?
If Gustave Doré's vision of Hell is not Hellish enough for you, just look at the above photo for a while.
Will I be booking a trip? ABSOLUTELY NOT.
It looks a trifle top heavy and definitely not meant for rough seas. Maybe Butlins-on-the-sea.
ReplyDeleteIt looks dreadful. Worse than Butlins I should think.
DeleteIt does look as though it could topple over in a strong wind.. Not for me.
ReplyDeleteThen all those screaming kids would be screaming even louder.
DeleteI'm with you, never been on a sea cruise, and never want too, it looks hideous.
ReplyDeleteJust imagine if some disease took hold; it's happened before, and it could happen again.
DeleteNorovirus would catch everyone on board.
DeleteAfter the chaos of Covid spreading so rapidly amongst tightly packed passengers, why would they think to build something so huge it carries hundreds MORE people??
ReplyDeleteThe picture actually looks more like a large toy one could float in a swimming pool and surround it with inflatable dolphins and sharks.
I just think it looks like my worst nightmare.
DeleteStuck at sea with 8,000 others doesn't appeal at all.
ReplyDeleteNightmare.
DeleteHow much will the sea level go up when they launch it? Will there be a Lego version? Instead of a cruise you could buy the kit for only £500 and spend 6 weeks making it.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't want to swim in any sea it had passed through.
DeleteI watched The Poseidon Adventure and don't even like a X Channel ferry!
ReplyDeleteI am forced to use the ferry, but at least it's only 4 hrs.
DeleteTrouble with blogger - after No thank you! it should read - I have been on cruises in the dim distant past on much smaller ships.
ReplyDeleteI have never been on a cruise, and can't see myself doing so. My people once went on a world cruise, and said all they did was EAT.
DeleteIf blogger hadn't messed up, I said that it wasn't my scene at all, but my husband enjoyed them. It was a trade off - a cruise one year and the next touring somewhere that suited me. The only advantage on a cruise is that you only unpack once!
DeleteI can't think of anything worse. It would be my worse nightmare.
ReplyDeleteMe too.
DeleteThey should change the name of that ship to H.M.S. Horrible. Even if they paid me to travel on it, I would refuse.
ReplyDeleteJust looking at the picture makes me love dry land even more.
DeleteArghhhhhhh!
ReplyDeleteComing to a tiny cove near you!!!
DeleteUgh!!!
ReplyDeleteUgh indeed.
DeleteOmg 19 floors , over 5000 passengers. Sheer hell
ReplyDeleteWhat were they thinking? They've built a nightmare.
DeleteMaybe Virgin has the right idea, no children on their ships. I have booked a trans Atlantic cruise for next spring.
ReplyDeleteNo children would be a definite advantage. A trans-Atlantic cruise would hardly allow you two nights sleep; a much better idea.
DeleteOh I want to take a trans Atlantic cruise. It is one of those things on my bucket list. It cannot be worse than the flight. I honestly thought that would be the end of me. The girl cross legged next to me meant I traveled with her knee in my lap for most of the trip.
DeleteWe did a cruise, just one time, on a ship half that size. It wasn't horrible, the ship was beautiful, but we'll not repeat the experience. Just not my style to be herded around in close quarters with a couple thousand other people. Thoughts of being on board that huge ship you've shown gives me the shivers, but not in a good way.
ReplyDeleteMy people went on a world cruise (The Oriana) and were bored stiff. All they did was eat, and came home about a stone heavier.
DeleteI can't believe no one else has said it yet, so I will: The Eyesore Of The Seas.
ReplyDeleteWell spotted!
DeleteLooks and sounds like hell to me!
ReplyDeleteAnd me!
DeleteI would pay NOT to go !
ReplyDeleteThey would have to pay me; and even then I wouldn't go.
DeleteLike you, I would never consider a cruise on a ship like this. A private sailboat cruise is much preferred.
ReplyDeleteThe four hour cross-channel ferry is enough for me.
DeleteOk rallentdana , send me £1 0 and I will fix it
ReplyDeleteI love cruising, but dear me, I wouldn't touch that ship with a barge pole! Stuck with 7 thousand people would be my idea of hell. No thanks.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely Not!! I'm not big on cruises as it is and don't like crowds, so no way!
ReplyDeleteIt is obscenely huge and an ecological disaster
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely.
DeleteI totally agree with you, Cro. My sister and BIL are fond of going on these huge cruise ships - personally, I would rather die than booking my holiday on one of these.
