The trials of Billy.

With fewer friends to play with, Billy now often sits crossed-legged outside looking extremely bored.

There are no grandsons here any more to play Ping Pong with, so he wanders around with nothing to do other than bark at any unwary holiday makers who may pass-by.

But he won't have to wait long to see his friends again as we're off to Blighty in a couple of weeks.

In the meantime he'll need his Passport stamped with proof of de-worming, anti Rabies jab, inside leg measurement, declaration of income, etc.

At least his Passport photo actually looks like him, which is more that I can say for mine. Even I don't recognise myself in my Passport.

  1. He looks a little regal there. Good to know his passport is up to date.

    1. No-one to play with. He did have a visit last night from a big white 'Alsatian' which he enjoyed; but he really misses my grandsons.

  5. Will you and your Swedish au pair (wife) also need to prove that you have been de-wormed before returning to "This royal throne of kings, this scepter'd isle, This earth of majesty, this seat of Mars, This other Eden, demi-paradise..."?

    1. Of course. But instead of the anti-Rabies jab we have an anti-Covid jab.

  7. Poor Billy does look quite bored in the picture. I love how his front paws are crossed. It will be nice when he gets back to his friends and they can sit down and share a pint at the local pub and discuss Brexit.

    1. He's going to be so thrilled to meet-up with all his old buddies, he hasn't seen them for three months.

  8. Billy doesn't like the departure of your grandsons. His world shrunk. Change is hard. Where is his friend, the neighbor dog?

    1. The one he met yesterday is the dog of a holidaymaker, but he's a bit wary of his main friend after she had a go at him. Poor Billy is now quite frightened of her.

    2. I wonder if she forgot him? That is so strange.

    1. He knows there's something afoot. He's probably not looking forward to the journey; just like me.

  10. You seemed to have just arrived and now its time to leave. You must have a lot of work now besides Billy, closing everything up till next year.
Have a good winter, as they say here, but not till the end of August

    1. Yes, and I don't suppose many of his chums will have been further away than the local kennels.

  13. I wonder if Billy is left brained? His feet are crossed that way, or would be if he was human and those were his front hands(paws).

    2. When I had two dogs I noticed that their bodies pointed in slightly different directions when they walked, and that they had opposing leading feet when they ran. I presumed at the time that one was right footed, and the other left!
