It's very refreshing to see signs of Spring. We have just one Camellia flower on our tiny patio, plus a few rather straggly Wallflowers.
The Daffs have been flowering for a while (folk have even been picking them), but now their leaves are bursting from the ground as well.
When I took this photo yesterday morning, a Blackbird was singing its heart out. I sat on a gravestone and listened for about 10 minutes. I also heard either a Woodpecker or a Nuthatch tapping away. Beautiful.
The Snowdrops are also flowering. These (below) seem to be a rather discreet variety, but very welcome all the same.
I'm perfectly aware that 'One Daff does not a Spring make', but any sign of re-birth lifts the spirits, and gives hope.
Such a beautiful time of year …. I love Spring when everything is fresh and green. That’s why we have Winter …… it makes Spring even more wonderful. XXXX
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure we've had Winter yet; I believe it may be arriving this week. Certainly for the North.
DeleteTrue …. I’m a bit premature ! But, there are signs of Spring beginning to arrive ! XXXX
DeleteFolk have been stealing them. Thieving Greenies.
ReplyDeleteI saw some people picking them; it seemed wrong somehow.
DeleteIt is wrong.
DeleteSnowdrops daffodils and camellia flowers. Welcome, Spring.
ReplyDeleteI have a vase of Daffs on the table in front of me. Every so often their aroma (not particularly pleasant) wafts over me.
DeleteOur snowdrops are in bloom. I can see them from my kitchen window.
ReplyDeleteThe one's here seem very small compared to the one's we have in France. I did notice a few Crocuses up too.
DeleteAll lovely signs of Spring. I look outside and see 4-inches of snow with ice underneath in some areas. I know my daffodils are there but it'll be at least a month before I see flowers. The sun and blue sky is brilliant today at 20 degrees F. It's cold outside...
ReplyDeleteIt's been wet-n-windy here today, a day to stay indoors and eat crumpets for tea.
DeleteI'm looking so forward to signs of spring. I've been forcing bunches of forsythia throughout the house the past two weeks and I'm happy to see they're now in full bloom. I'm trying to trick my brain into believing spring is almost here. In reality, it's two months away.
ReplyDeleteWe all become impatient at this time of year. Spring will be along in time.
DeleteThose spring flowers are a welcome colour in winter. I love them in the wild, hate it when people cut them and take them away.
ReplyDeleteI watched as a woman 'shamelessly' picked a bunch. Maybe they were for her husband on the 14th.
