The insides of fridges usually contain milk, cheese, eggs, etc; and the outsides invariably display children's' drawings.
This has become almost obligatory in most households, and our particular resident artist automatically places his finished works there as soon as he's discarded the last coloured pen.
The fridge has become a child's gallery. His/her very first exhibition space; no questions asked, but highly admired!
What have you been saying in front of that child? The fire one seems to have a lot of lines of thought going through it.
ReplyDeleteEverything he draws is on fire... I'm beginning to worry!
DeleteFunny how we see what we "see". I didn't see "fire" until Rachel mentioned it. What I did see was a drooping flower (maybe a tulip?). That the vase is a house I took as the artist's poetic licence.
DeleteInteresting fridge magnets you have.

Souvenirs from Kos, Rome, Gothenburg, and Australia.
DeleteOur fridge door is pristine, devoid of any artwork or magnets. Rather sad really. Maybe I could put some Rick paw prints up there.
ReplyDeleteI think I prefer a plain fridge door, but with Boo Boo around, I'm outvoted.
DeleteThe first thing I saw was ‘ fire ‘ !!! Maybe all the images of the Australian fires earlier in the year has stuck with him. I expect in a while it will be something else ! You are lucky to have some if your family with you ...... we are all isolating so who knows when we will all see family and friends. Take care Cro and Lady M and family. XXXX
ReplyDeleteYes, it would be very sad if we didn't have them here; we're lucky. Boo Boo and Lady M are cake making today. Gorgeous day here.
DeleteNot long ago I bought more and more fridge magnets, they grew slightly and there is no need today.
ReplyDeleteOurs just seem to 'appear'. I don't know who puts them there.
DeleteHe uses very happy colours. His drawings must brighten your kitchen .
ReplyDeleteTHey certainly brighten the fridge.
DeleteI wonder where he got his talent from?
ReplyDeleteFrom his grandmother!
DeleteNo, not grandmama! It is easy to see that your grandson has in fact inherited his grandfather's artistic ability because the style is spookily identical! Are you sure you didn't produce those pictures yourself?
ReplyDeleteIf only I could. His style and technique is far superior to mine.
DeleteI'm buoyed by the fact that even though the volcano spewed fire on the house, there are still happy flowers in the yard! -Jenn
ReplyDeleteA bit of everything; pleasure and pain.
DeleteFor many artists their first exhibition was on the fridge!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure you're right; to critical acclaim.
DeleteThere’s been a lot of news from NASA about near earth objects.
ReplyDeleteLooks like one landed on a house. I have rival artworks from 4 year old next door. He came round with a Treasure Map he’d drawn. It looks like an octopus. And some bits of wood he’d glued together. I think it’s an airplane. And another drawing I’m still trying to fathom. He was trying to cheer me up as he’d heard of my painful little accident (ribs) on the tram.
DeleteSome great kids aren’t there?
DeleteA lovely first gallery.
ReplyDeleteDo you see potential?
