RIP's of MMXVI

It's been said many times, but what a year it was for 'celebrity' deaths.

I shan't attempt to name them all, you can see many in the pastiche above. There were giants amongst them; Mohammed Ali, Bowie, Prince Buster, Prince himself, Lemmie, Leonard Cohen, and more recently George Michael.

Most of us just come and go; others leave a huge footprint. I salute them all, and thank them for having made my life so much more enjoyable than it might otherwise have been.

Acta est fabula; plaudite. RIP all.

  1. The other day I was amazed by the list of celebs who passed away. With today's technology however they will live on for us. Thank you YouTube and the net in general. RIP

  2. The crowd is bigger than that. Just to mention a few Italian names like Umberto Eco, author of the name of the rose. Actor playwriter and theatre director Dario Fo, then also champion swimmers and actor Bud Spencer...

    3. Maria, years ago, on a London visit, I was able to see Dario Fo's Accidental Death of an Anarchist. It was a wonderful introduction to his writing.

  3. That album cover was done by Jan Howarth, not her partner Peter Blake as he claimed, although he had a part in it. Jan used to live here in Bath, and I lived with her sister.

    1. Didn't she make dolls? PB was a very good painter, he should have concentrated on it.

    2. Jan Howarth is a name new to me, and so I will have to do some research. Thank you.
