Cro Skips the Light Fandango (alone).
I hadn't previously realised what good musicians those Procol Harum boys were. Here they are bringing their big 1967 hit back to life. To my sensitive ears this 'live' 2006 version is even better than the original.
Lady Magnon flew off for a brief visit to London yesterday, so (on this St Valentine's Day) it'll be just me and the dogs, skipping the light fandango together.
One member of Procol Harum went to my school but, I can't remember which one. He was older than me and, he came back for a visit and got mobbed !!!! That is a wonderful version of Whiter Shade of Pale. …. and, tell the dogs, " no tongues " !!!!
Wow what a great version! Must share this with my youngest daughter. She had this as the music at her wedding 23 years ago (Was pretty good played on an organ!) A summer concert ! reminds us of what is to come. Gill
I love a classic rock ballad with keyboards a good lead guitar break and which builds up to a crescendo. John Lennon loved this song. Any chance of some Emerson Lake and Palmer?

Optimistic Cro!
The difference between an optimist and a pessimist, is that the optimist enjoys himself whilst waiting for the inevitable! I AM that optimist!
This is a daily, optimistic, 'photos and comments' blog. I make no judgements (only occasionally), just notes. If you wish to comment in any way at all, please feel free. Everything and everyone (except the obdurate and dictatorial) is very welcome.
I was born just south of London, but for the past 50 years I've lived in S W France. I am a painter by profession, and writer by desire. Lady Magnon and I live between an ancient cottage in a tiny village in perfectly tranquil French countryside, and a bijou townhouse in Brighton UK. In France we have plenty of fruit trees, all situated amongst a view that takes the breath away, in the UK we have a handkerchief sized patio. We also have a Border Collie called Billy. I try to treat our planet with respect, and encourage others to do likewise (without preaching).
Contentment is a glass of red, a plate of charcuterie, and a slice of good country bread. Perfect!
Oh this takes me right back to my youth - enjoy the light fandango - wishing you hearts and flowers.
ReplyDeleteFantastic -thank you Cro! XX for Valentine's day.
