Neil Young, Harvest Moon, and Mr Jacqueline.
Some time back, Jacqueline over at Beauty in the ordinary posted this beautiful song for her husband, who had been going through some rough times.
Certain musicians just amaze me. Take a simple tune, a perfect arrangement, serious musicianship, attractive girly singers who know their job, and a straight-forward voice to pass on the message; what more could one want from a love song? I've been listening to this ever since Jacqueline posted it on her site.
Oh, I just love Neil Young - what a musician he is. Never afraid to try something new. A serious musician, as you say, and an interesting man. This is a lovely song. My absolute favourite of his songs is "Hurricane".

Optimistic Cro!
The difference between an optimist and a pessimist, is that the optimist enjoys himself whilst waiting for the inevitable! I AM that optimist!
This is a daily, optimistic, 'photos and comments' blog. I make no judgements (only occasionally), just notes. If you wish to comment in any way at all, please feel free. Everything and everyone (except the obdurate and dictatorial) is very welcome.
I was born just south of London, but for the past 50 years I've lived in S W France. I am a painter by profession, and writer by desire. Lady Magnon and I live between an ancient cottage in a tiny village in perfectly tranquil French countryside, and a bijou townhouse in Brighton UK. In France we have plenty of fruit trees, all situated amongst a view that takes the breath away, in the UK we have a handkerchief sized patio. We also have a Border Collie called Billy. I try to treat our planet with respect, and encourage others to do likewise (without preaching).
Contentment is a glass of red, a plate of charcuterie, and a slice of good country bread. Perfect!
This is the best of Neil Young and my favorite song of all times.

A cool dude! I rather like the girlies.
DeleteHe is an interesting character. Bucks the system (especially record companies)and celebrity in general. Sometimes described as a little cuckoo.
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely way to start my day (It was ten degrees below zero this morning!)
ReplyDeleteAlways was one of my favorite Neil songs. It conjures up thoughts of warmer weather. Thanks Cro.
