For the Ladies: That Hat!

I suppose this has to be the world's most famous hat. Not because of it's great beauty, but because it was possibly the worst fashion disaster of all time.

So to avoid another faux pas, I have designed this flamboyant hat (below) specifically for Princess Beatrice's next important hat-wearing occasion.

As you can see, it is created from several separate elements and involves use of the wearer's own hair. I have designed it to compliment almost any outfit, and any colour scheme.

It is seen here being modelled by a recent guest chez Cro. Like it?

  3. I used to put my hair in curlers, now I keep it in a matchbox.

ps - I assumed on the day, as any true gentleman would, that the hat in question was just Beaeugenietrice's way of smuggling in a haemorrhoid ring to sit on during the long and dreary ceremony. ...

  4. I've got a hat very similar to your design, Cro. I didn't realise I was so avant garde. I might wear it to the next Lumberjack gathering. (Owl Wood - your comment is very funny.)

  6. Strangely familiar in a fleeting sort of way... Considering how much money that hat went for and which the Princess donated to charity -- she may have had the last laugh... I must admit though -- every time I see a photograph of her wearing it, I can't believe it!

  7. That hat made her famous throughout the world. Beatrice came "behind" Pippa as the most talked about woman at the wedding.

  12. And here i was thinking i'd be reading something about 14 juillet when i got online and headed over to your blog.

I'm still astounded by that hat. The flamboyant hat you displayed below has a much softer, gentler look. I much prefer it.
