BIZARRE.

One hears of strange projects around the world. Roads that lead nowhere, bridges that end mid-air, and even a huge estate of 732 mini castles that remain unfinished and unoccupied.

One might be forgiven thinking that Turkey's 'Burg Al Babas' is an AI fabrication; but no. It's real OK.

What is unbelievable, is how, or why some entrepreneur imagined that this was a good idea. Who in their right mind would want to live in a development of hundreds of small Disney-Style 'castles', crammed together over several acres. You'd have to be bonkers! Having said that; about half of them were sold in the early stages of development.

When we look at the above photo, we can hardly believe that someone didn't have a word with the Construction/Development Co, and attempt to stop them. They went bankrupt of course.

One can but wonder what will happen to all these houses. Most are only half built; just exterior shells.

What a waste of money, space and lack of taste. But you never know about how other cultures see things. Maybe they would have been completely bought up by happy Turks IF it had been finished.

I believe that the original buyers were mostly from The Middle East; Dubai, Saudi, etc.

Good to hear there's another place with half finished houses and builders bankrupt . The next village has one too - not castles of course - just small 'affordable' homes that no one wants

Another of Angela Rayner's wonderful schemes no doubt. Are the 'affordable homes' just too expensive?

I could hardly believe these castles were real, so I had to look them up on Streetview. How wierd. I imagine there must be plenty of homeless people who would jump at the chance for one of these 'affordable' homes, they could give them out for free as long as the occupier carried on the building work. And there's a thing...'affordable homes'...whoever heard of such a thing these days, no home is 'affordable'!

Affordable homes are only affordable by those who can afford them!
Perhaps Burnham could buy the whole complex and send our Illegal Immigrants there.

You neglected to say that these houses were constructed in the Mudumu area of Turkey between Ankara and Istanbul. I would buy the one right in the middle then immediately spray it red - just to be different.

You could start a trend, and you'd end-up with a rainbow town.

It looks like someone's Franklin Mint collection.
