PMQ's (Prime Minister's Questions), Mandy, etc.

One weekly event that I try NEVER to miss is PMQ's, on Wednesdays at Mid-day.

Important questions are asked, and The Prime Minister is obliged to give answers. Difficult questions are often sidestepped by sitting PM's, regardless of their political persuasion, but our current PM has made it into 'An Art Form'. He simply replies to tricky questions by making nonsensical remarks about how everything is the fault of the Tories.

Starmer is not alone in dodging difficult questions; they all do it to an extent, but not EVERY WEEK and to EVERY QUESTION.

Just a week ago, even the Speaker of the House, Sir Lindsay Hoyle, rebuked him for his constantly evasive replies. When leaving the house a short while later, Starmer had angry 'words' with Hoyle; as shown in the video. Yet again he is being urged to resign; but it'll take a lot to remove him.

We all remember 'Beergate' (below), when Starmer went all the way up to Durham in April of 2021, during lockdown, to a beer and curry party with friends, whilst Boris who stayed at his home, in May of 2021, to host a 'socially distanced work event' in the garden of No 10, was hounded-out of office. Starmer amazingly managed to remain glued to his post, having been exonerated by Labour 'friends'.  He has no concept of 'doing the right thing', or even of admitting his mistakes.

The truth hurts, but avoiding the truth often hurts even more; as he's now seeing.

The recently re-surfaced Mandy scandal isn't helping him. He is STILL claiming that it's everyone else's fault, and that he didn't know that Mandy, who was a close friend of paedophile Jeffery Epstein, had failed his 'Security Vetting'. The whole point of the Security Vetting was to make sure that Mandy was suitable for the job; he wasn't, and everyone knew that other than the very man who appointed him. Watching Starmer squirming as he answered questions on Monday afternoon was embarrassing.

We all knew that Mandy had been sacked TWICE from government posts for lying, and it has now been revealed that he was also a director of the Russian Defence Company, Sistema, at a salary of £200,000 (plus added shareholdings). One can but wonder why they wanted him as a director !!!

Also, Mandy's own company 'Global Counsel' made £3.5 Million in 2024/25 from Chinese Biotech Co 'WuXiAppTec'. That's a lot of money !!! So, he was well-in with both the Russians and the Chinese, and doing very well from them both.

We now have to wait for the May 7th (?) local elections, before the next opportunity for Starmer to resign. If electoral predictions are correct, I'm sure he'll go. With any luck, we might even have the fragrant Angela Rayner as our next PM.

It would be almost as much fun as having Corbyn as PM.

Another balanced, unbiased, on-the-fence view of current political shenanigans. It is amazing that "The Daily Mail" have not yet signed you up as a columnist. There was no "Beergate". Keir Starmer was in Durham on perfectly legitimate election business during a by-election - even thought that was during COVID restrictions. Late on, at the end of the day he ate a takeaway curry washed down with a bottle of beer. There really was nothing to see there. The only thing that was "wrong" was the vindictive reporting by the right wing media -making a mountain out of a molehill as usual.

I agree with you that Starmer demonstrated appalling judgment in appointing Mandelson.

But please do try and stick to facts. Johnson was not hounded out of office because of “party gate”

Boris stayed at home for a work meeting; Starmer went all the way up to Durham for a Beer and Curry party. Staying at home was part of the restrictions, travelling up to Durham and partying broke those restrictions. QED

They HAD to get rid of him by any method. He was far too clever, and therefore dangerous. I don't think he minded going; being PM had been ticked off his list !

Who is “they” Cro?

Cro Magnon said...

'LABOUR', of course.

Ah! Labour was responsible for him resigning as PM - I did not realize that. Must had taken my eye off the ball that week.

You might have forgotten, but they were like a pack of hounds, who wouldn't stop until he resigned. You lefties have very strange memories.

Traveller said...

Are you talking about resignation as PM or as MP?

Keep going Cro. The lefties are losing it with their mud slinging. Both Conservative and Labour are a disgrace. They are biding their time waiting for the economy to collapse. Then they will be swanning off to their paradise island.

It's nice to see that Starmer's fan club still have the odd member or two.

Poor old Teflon Starmer has had another drubbing today. It's amazing that he's still hanging on. He's a disgrace.

Only the usual suspects; if you've been a big fan of Corbyn, I suppose that Starmer feels like an angel.

I do wish people could read. I agree with you Cro, Starmer should never have appointed Mandy. it showed an appalling lack of judgment.

I suspect Corbyn is several times more honest than Starmer. Not that it's much of an achievement.

Well we all know who would get the prize for dishonesty

Cro Magnon said...

Everyone gasped when they heard about his appointment; we couldn't believe it.

Cro Magnon said...

He might be 'honest', but his views are abhorrent.

Cro Magnon said...

They are everywhere, but in different amounts of evil.

I agree that Corbyn’s policies were ridiculous. The liar prize, of course, goes to johnson

That's political leadership today. No surprise.
One leader said all wars would be halted under his leadership only to have a new war start. The same leader loves to state: We are close to a deal, yet the other side claims to be unaware of a deal.
Isn't it lovely?

Tru*p's war is a mystery. Nothing seems to have been achieved other than destruction; a bit like Putin's war.

Nuclear Islam that they intend to use on the rest of us. That really is what it is all about. They mean what they say. Death to Israel. Death to America. Eventually everyone's ox will be gored. (read their book) They have missiles that can hit London. They proved that. There is no appeasing madmen. We learned that the hard way with Hitler.

Oh dear, they are now desperate for 'Damage Limitation', but failing totally. Even the few die-hard lefties are throwing their hands up in horror. How can he possibly remain as PM.
