This video went 'viral' recently, for obvious reasons.
I have to say that since the outrage over the cutting down of the infamous Sycamore tree in Northumberland a while back, this must be the worst case of bucolic vandalism we've witnessed.
I have no idea who this person is, where he comes from, or why he wishes to destroy our ancient dry-stone walls. What I do know is that he's a Fuc*ing Id*ot, and should be given a bloody good thrashing behind the wall, before being made to rebuild it.
Dare I say, but he's obviously not of British heritage, so why one earth should someone who is benefitting from the generosity and liberalism of Britain, wish to destroy it. I really am lost for words.
This is getting (has got) completely out of hand. I hope that the authorities will look at him, and decide that he's not really the type of person we want in our country.
The little bast*rd. I am VERY angry.

Bring back the stock for individuals like this...
I wonder how much we're paying him to be here?
I saw this a few days ago. It appalled me. I would make him rebuild it. There is very little respect for anyone or anything these days.
I don't care who he is or where he comes from, of course he should be made to rebuild it; but will he? Of course not. He'll probably have his benefits increased and be moved to a more comfy hotel. Either The State, or The Farmer, will foot the bill.
Oh dear ...
Indeed!
There must be some "reason" why he was committing this act of vandalism. It does not add up. He's out in the countryside having a walk so why should he do this? Our drystone walls are wonderful - like a massive art installation inherited from our forebears. They are to be cherished - not damaged.
Incredible! Why why why. Glad someone caught him in the act, stopped him and shouted at him. He shouldn't be allowed to stay
You're right; it's very strange behaviour. I believe he said that he wanted to make an opening so that he could get through; in which case it might have been easier to just climb over. In fact I think it was just plain vandalism.
We really don't need people like him in our country. He can go and break down some other country's walls, and see where it gets him!
I wonder if it would have “gone viral” had the chap had blond hair and blues eyes?
He sounds to have a Yorkshire accent, so maybe not a recent migrant.
It's not the man's ethnicity that's at fault, it's that he's been dismantling an old stone wall for no reason. You really mustn't bring racism into everything; this is to do with STUPIDITY not race.
I couldn't actually hear what he was saying, but you could be right. Do you remember Charlie Williams?
If you look at the You Tube channel you might conclude that ethnicity has everything to do with it🤷🏻♂️
With others maybe, but certainly NOT with me!
I'm so sorry he did that. It's like getting your home broken into and then having your family heirlooms deliberately smashed. One only has to look back at history.
This man has clearly crossed the line. Is he a UK citizen?
I assume that the UK has laws to protect historic wall structures. The National Trust does a great job protecting historic sites and national treasures.
It is simply wilful damage. Destruction for the sake of destruction, and nothing else.
It was a beautiful old wall, but I doubt if it was protected as such. One just doesn't expect people to come along and tear them down.
Really sad.
That was my feeling too! Why would anyone wish to spoil something so nice? Only he knows!
As many are saying, what was the reasoning and purpose behind trying to destroy that wall. That's the great mystery.
It reminds me of the felling of that famous 120 year old Sycamore Gap Tree in Northumberland in 2023... the Robin Hood tree. Thankfully the two suspects were both caught and sentenced to 4 years in prison.
And back then I kept asking myself why did they do it? It made no sense. I wonder if they now feel remorse, being incarcerated. I've always thought that most criminals are actually quite dumb, as they never think ahead to the consequences.
And with the Sycamore tree they travelled quite a long distance with their chainsaw, specifically to cut it down. They never did explain why!
