Zoot Clad Cro.
After yesterday's posting, I feel I need to offer this.
I have always fancied owning a Zoot Suit. They are just so incredibly stylish.
I'd exchange the wide brimmed hat for my Sunday beret, and maybe do away with the chains, but otherwise I can see myself shopping, eating out, or even taking the dogs for their morning walk, dressed in one of the above suits; preferably the dark one. Oh yes.
My daughter went to her prom back in the late 80's with her boyfriend who bought and wore a zoot suit he found in a vintage store. He looked great (and so did my daughter in her '30's style dress). I wonder if he still has it.
Yes, yes, yes Cro …… individuality is great and I would love to see you in a Zoot suit and your beret !!!! ….. only for special occasions of course …… definitely not for walking the dogs, although ………….!! XXXX
Go for it! Dressing to suit ourselves is one of the pleasures of getting older. With the cyclic nature of fashion, you might even bring the zoot suit back into style.
THE BELLS ..... THE BELLS ..........

the lovely things about where our house is, is that it's a stones throw

Optimistic Cro!
The difference between an optimist and a pessimist, is that the optimist enjoys himself whilst waiting for the inevitable! I AM that optimist!
This is a daily, optimistic, 'photos and comments' blog. I make no judgements (only occasionally), just notes. If you wish to comment in any way at all, please feel free. Everything and everyone (except the obdurate and dictatorial) is very welcome.
I was born just south of London, but for the past 50 years I've lived in S W France. I am a painter by profession, and writer by desire. Lady Magnon and I live between an ancient cottage in a tiny village in perfectly tranquil French countryside, and a bijou townhouse in Brighton UK. In France we have plenty of fruit trees, all situated amongst a view that takes the breath away, in the UK we have a handkerchief sized patio. We also have a Border Collie called Billy. I try to treat our planet with respect, and encourage others to do likewise (without preaching).
Contentment is a glass of red, a plate of charcuterie, and a slice of good country bread. Perfect!
The translation of Z.S. into hebrew is so funny that I am so sorry you dont know hebrew.Google also tells me that there were Z.S. riots in 1943.
ReplyDeleteIt's a great look. although they do look like shady drug dealers. A beret would be all wrong though.
ReplyDeleteMy illusions refuse to be shattered!
DeleteDo it, Cro - then show us the photos.
ReplyDeleteOh no, ...although it beats the knitted swimming trunks:)
ReplyDeleteI lost the knitted belt too.
DeleteTsk...you'll scare the horses! :)
DeleteI shall be looking out for a Zoot Suited or Steam Punked Cro next summer. (Paul thinks you're having a mid life crisis!)
ReplyDeleteThose baggy pants would make a chap look slimmer in the waist...is that why you like them?
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of this. It appeals to me. I will imagine you somewhere in Perigord wearing the Zoot suit.

ReplyDeleteMost styles eventually make a return.
ReplyDeleteThe hat is a 'must have'. Love the style.
ReplyDeleteOh no. PLEASE.

ReplyDeleteThank you for your confidence, Jacqueline; Weaver (above) is having a bad day.
