That's what I love about dogs, the way they do what they do is as important to them as it is to us.
Yesterday when I was checking on the Sister's hound who is a little bit depressed after the loss of his "Other half" he was feigning indifference to fuss so I went and sat down on another settee - and he very slowly, very casually, oh-I-was-going-to-do-this-anyway wandered over and snuggled up with me and went to sleep until my pins and needles got too bad. A hound has his dignity to consider!
They both look wonderful, although i am sorry that Bok had to munch on the beret. We had a Springer Spaniel that loved chewing on paper, especially for the first 2 years we had her. We'd come home to a ticker tape parade cleanup in the living room. Our first Springer Spaniel was always placid and easy going. Both were loveable, but so different.

the lovely things about where our house is, is that it's a stones throw

Optimistic Cro!
The difference between an optimist and a pessimist, is that the optimist enjoys himself whilst waiting for the inevitable! I AM that optimist!
This is a daily, optimistic, 'photos and comments' blog. I make no judgements (only occasionally), just notes. If you wish to comment in any way at all, please feel free. Everything and everyone (except the obdurate and dictatorial) is very welcome.
I was born just south of London, but for the past 50 years I've lived in S W France. I am a painter by profession, and writer by desire. Lady Magnon and I live between an ancient cottage in a tiny village in perfectly tranquil French countryside, and a bijou townhouse in Brighton UK. In France we have plenty of fruit trees, all situated amongst a view that takes the breath away, in the UK we have a handkerchief sized patio. We also have a Border Collie called Billy. I try to treat our planet with respect, and encourage others to do likewise (without preaching).
Contentment is a glass of red, a plate of charcuterie, and a slice of good country bread. Perfect!

we have 3, all shapes and sizes. Completely different personalities and abilities. But when it comes time to rest, they pile on each other and snooze.
