I usually start with a rough drawing like this.
And finish with a rough painting like this.
Not much more to say really.
It's stinking hot here, and I have a really busy morning.
A diverse offering twixt the interesting, the unusual, and the amusing.
The colors are so beautiful and the process is interesting. Take care of yourself in this heat wave.
ReplyDeleteI think it may be a bit cooler today (33 C), so we'll be OK. Yesterday was far too hot.
DeleteIt's a lot better than anything I could ever do.
ReplyDeleteI usually do better too, but I just found the original drawing.
DeleteGlad it is cooling there. I see Oswestry forecast is also 33 C
ReplyDeleteWe have some cloud this morning, it's 23 C, and we can see smoke. I hope we don't have forest fires!!!
DeleteOh dear, I hope too that you don't have forest fires.
ReplyDeleteIt's quite worrying to smell and see smoke. Everywhere is so dry, although I see that we might have a small amount of rain in the night. We'll see!
DeleteAlthough I am not artistic, I think I could make an attempt at painting by doing it your way.
ReplyDeleteI should think so.
DeleteIs that a recent painting Cro? I like it. You should paint more often for I know you have often left your talent in abeyance. Use it while you can.
ReplyDeleteIt's quite old. The vines are no longer there, and our little house in the distance has been considerable enlarged.
DeleteThe mind boggles that you have a busy morning. What can you be doing? No mowing, no gardening, not a shopping day. Housework? Cooking?
ReplyDeleteInternational furniture removals, my youngest is having all his stuff shipped back to Oz. It's a nightmare. I've just escaped for 10 mins.
DeleteWe've been at it since 7 am. The Dutch shipping Co people have now gone, and we're exhausted.
DeleteYou can rest watching the Tour now.
DeleteI like your painting.
ReplyDeleteNever a dull moment with your offspring. Can be a bit tiring, don't you think? Is he going to live there "permanently"? Good reason for a visit with two kids on the Australian block.
We went there in their autumn some years ago and it was even hotter than our Dutch heatwave now.
My wife may go; she's been before and enjoyed her visits. I'm afraid for me it's too far, and sitting in a plane for 20 hrs is not on. When they invent a plane that could do the trip in 2 or 3 hrs; then I'll go.
DeleteInteresting to see how a painting might start. And then finish. Lots of nice earthy colours
ReplyDeleteIt's not that different today. The vines have gone, and our house has expanded, otherwise it looks much the same.
DeleteYour painting is lovely showing a beautiful rural landscape vista. The heatwave is expansive and tiring by itself. It is a good day for swimming. Today is to be 90 plus degrees F in Massachusetts.
ReplyDelete'Light rain' is forecast for us today, but somehow I doubt if it'll arrive.
DeleteVery nice. Your painting has a Cezanne vibe, but with a refreshing energy.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed painting it; which I don't always!
DeleteI like the painting...but I really like the drawing!
ReplyDeleteBut that is my view.
I tend to agree. The painting is on a wall to my left, but the drawing, being v small, is in a sketch book amongst many others.
