This heavily flowering Apple tree is right outside our front door. I predict a good crop this Autumn. There is a second Apple tree just to the right which is equally full of flowers.
Amusingly painted bus.
Not so well painted bike lane sign, maybe it was his 'first'. I love these signs, even when the wheels are wonky.
I hope you can see 'Charlie'. As I ate my breakfast, he was standing on top of the nearby Primary School, surveying his realm.
A recent meal. Chicken, red Peppers, Lettuce. Yum.
Memorial bench for Brighton's own Theatre Critic Jack Tinker, in the nearby 'Peace Gardens'.
That's it.
Another lovely photo review. You'll have to remind me who Charlie is. He certainly gets a good view of his realm from up there.
ReplyDeleteAll our fruit trees are blooming or have bloomed, especially the apricot. We've had plenty of rain so far and it will be interesting to see how many apricots we get to eat.
'Charlie' is the common name given to all Foxes; male and female.
DeleteI would love to see that bus gradually getting coloured in.
ReplyDeleteHow on earth did Charlie get up there?
ReplyDeleteNo idea. Maybe some kind soul put-up a ladder for him. I hope he got down again OK.
DeleteIs Charlie the headmaster? Come to think of it - my older brother Robin went to a secondary modern school in East Yorkshire and the headteacher was Mr Fox - Sid Fox.
ReplyDeleteCharlie Fox's brother no doubt.
DeleteI like the wonky bike image.
ReplyDeleteThat is a real fox? So brazen.
The chicken and lettuce look good. I don't eat peppers in kind of quantity.
Yes it was a real one, he was wandering about and finally stopped on top of the chimney. He was there for some while.
DeleteMaster of all h surveys indeed.
ReplyDeleteThey don't seem to have any fear of humans. I haven't seen that many recently, so it was good to see this one.
DeleteI can't wait for my fruit trees to blossom. My gardening style is to mix vegetables and fruit in with my flowers. It's wild and lovely at the same time. I can pick a bouquet of flowers while I'm harvesting tomatoes and basil for dinner. I'm also "mostly" fine with the birds and animals helping themselves. Each year, I usually only get a handful of ripe cherries before the birds and squirrels pick my tree clean. Thankfully, they leave me sufficient apples to make at least one apple crisp.
ReplyDeleteMy late father always claimed that he planted 25% for the wildlife, and 75% for us. Unfortunately the birds would have 25% of every tomato, lettuce, and cauliflower, but we never minded.
DeleteI thought Charlie was a new Anthony Gormley.
ReplyDeleteHe could almost be! I sent the same photo to the Headmistress, and I've just received a nice thank you letter from her.
DeleteA nice variety of interesting photos! My favorite was Charlie!
ReplyDeleteI love Foxes, even though one did once kill all 15 of my Chickens.
DeleteCharlie looks quite noble. A very good photo.
ReplyDeleteIf I'd had a decent camera it would have been much better; I used my phone from a distance.
DeleteI didn't think that Charlie was real ! Thought it was a sculpture ! There are 25 bronze roundels on the pavements of Spitalfields reflecting life in the area ..... apples and pears, toys, embroidery, scissors and buttons, a viola .....and lots more. Might do a post about them. XXXX
ReplyDeleteIt was real enough. It was wandering about, and finally settled on top of the chimney. He stayed there for about 10 mins.
