Since leaving France, Boo Boo has lived in Cancun, Miami, Cancun again, somewhere in Hawaii, and presently on some beautiful small island in the Caribbean.
He has attended some very good schools, and shows signs of an intelligence not unlike his father's. He's doing OK.
Here he is, above, attempting to recreate a photo he took of a nearby beach scene. Using my well-honed artist's eye, I think I can spot some sky, a palm tree, and some sand. The boy obviously has talent.
School is always important to a child's development, especially when it comes to interaction with others of the same age, but travel and an understanding of the world is also important. To witness and experience different cultures and ways of life is an education in itself. Exams and degrees will follow naturally in time.
I've just looked, and it is 26 C and sunny on his island. Can't be bad!
I miss you Boo Boo. Grumpy xxx
I can see Booboo has grown but still a blonde cherub.
ReplyDeleteYou must really miss the Grumpy to Booboo contact you had when he was younger.
At least you can have contact through social media and be proud he is clever and talented. I hope he visits before he gets much older, and taller
We occasionally speak via Skype, but with time zones being different, we have to rely on his being available.
DeleteHe looks happy.
ReplyDeleteHe's a very lively boy. He loves 'doing things'.
DeleteHow's Cherub?
ReplyDeleteAll I know about him is that he's annoys his big brother at every opportunity. I think he likes the attention to be focused on him at all times. Typical boy, I suppose. He still looks cherubic.
DeleteYou are a very fortunate Grumpy.
ReplyDeleteI know I am, I'd just like to see them a bit more often; I miss my cuddles.
DeleteHe is a handsome little chap. Must have inherited his grandfather's genes. Are they Wranglers?
ReplyDeleteKnowing his parents, they're probably Versace!
DeleteSo grown up now & a chip off the old Grumpy block !!! XXXX
ReplyDeleteHe's becoming quite 'serious', but I imagine that's all part of growing up.
DeleteWhat a beautiful boy he is! He is very fortunate to have such opportunities, though. Traveling will give him a world view that most children never know.
ReplyDeleteI agree. 'Travel broadens the mind', and he certainly has travelled!
DeleteHow old is BB now? I should know since I have read your blog for god knows how many years. Don't say I don't have stamina. It's one of my more annoying shortcomings.
ReplyDeleteAnd what of the tree you planted for him? Has it come along? And what was it? Such an inspired idea of yours, Cro, to plant a tree for each of your grandchildren. May they [both the kids and the trees] bear plenty of fruit(s).
U
Boo Boo is about 7½. His tree was a Peach. It produced a superb crop this last year. It's a big juicy Peach with a delicious flavour. Delish.
DeleteAm everlastingly grateful that my family lived in many different places when I was growing up and that we traveled extensively--even though it meant I went to at least nine different schools before my university years. Never assumed the US was the best or only place to live; was happily exposed to diverse cultures. Always thought that part of my education was more important than any classroom lesson. Imagine BB will feel the same when he grows up.
ReplyDeleteMy wife was the same. Being the daughter of a diplomat, she lived in many wonderful places including Moscow, Washington, Caracas, and Puerto Rico. After a certain age she was at school in England, but had great adventures going 'home' for holidays.
DeleteIn the dead of British winter, a trip to the small island in the Caribbean for a visit with Boo Boo would be great for you both.
ReplyDeleteThe idea has been offered. I do know the island, I was there in about 1980 as a visiting lecturer. It would lovely to swim again, but we have far too much to do here.
