I still get Goosebumps listening to this. 'Hey little rich girl' was written by The Specials lead guitarist Roddy Radiation. The message in his lyrics reminds me of Dylan's 'Like a Rolling Stone', which I posted here yesterday.
Here is Amy's version. Beautiful Amy; we miss her.
Yes she was magnificent and gone too soon.
ReplyDeleteI was quite late to discover her. I saw her on Jools Holland's show, and was instantly hooked!
DeleteOne of the true greats. She could have had me if she'd played her cards right.
ReplyDeleteRust In Peace as I say in deference to Thatcher.
She had her problems, but with genius like that, we forgave her. Another member of the 27 Club.
DeleteTake a look at Angelina Jordan, she has been singing since a child and has now reached the grand old age of 15. Lots of her singing on YouTube, she is incredible.
ReplyDeleteI remember her singing 'What a difference a day makes'. She certainly has a great voice, but it worried me slightly, when she was younger, that she was too sophisticated for her age. I must look again now that she's older. Thanks for reminding me about her.
DeleteI've just had a look at her current singing. She seems to be singing now with her own voice, and not imitating older singers. She has a beautiful voice, and I expect it will only improve. Impressive.
DeleteAmy Winehouse was brilliant.
ReplyDeleteBrilliant and tragic.
DeleteGone too soon, such a wonderful entertainer.
ReplyDeleteThe best all die at 27.
DeleteSuch a powerful voice! It has been a while since I heard it. It's sad that she could not overcome her own demons. She had a remarkable gift.
ReplyDeleteYes, she had real talent. She went too soon.
DeleteWe love Amy Winehouse here. Such a great voice. Such a talent. What a shame.
ReplyDeleteThat says it all.
