Progress.

My youngest son, who currently lives in Sweden, is building a villa in Thailand. Things move slowly in Thailand, but at last there seems to have been some advance. I believe he will pop out there quite soon to inspect and make any alterations he seems fit. I see that some of his previous modifications have been seen to.

The pool seems quite small to me, but it is an infinity pool which is nice.

I like to see rough wooden scaffolding around a building. Any builder who can run about on such a ramshackle construction, must be worth his weight in gold.

Anyway, it's coming along well, and all looks OK.

    1. Yes, it looks good. Nice big windows, an outdoor room for eating out, and a small pool for when it gets too hot.

  2. It all looks wonderful ..... I would say the pool size is fine ..... perfect for cooling off and a few leisurely strokes ! ... and then leaning against the infinity side with a drink in ones hand !! XXXX

    1. Things always look bigger when they're finished. Yes, the length is swimmable; I can't stand pools where you can't swim up and down.

  3. Wooden scaffolding is good...it will flex with any earth tremors!
The quarantine system is good in Thailand and surrounding countries..I have a friend living and working there, who has to travel around other adjoining countries for work... efficient quarantine every time. Hope son has allowed extra time for this!
It is a building with plain and simple lines, no fussiness to detract from the beautiful nature surrounding it.

    1. I'm sure he's calculated everything into his visit. There's a separate 'pagoda' type building which brings it all together. Good fuss-free architecture.

  4. Looks like the perfect building for the climate. Lady M will be visiting. How about you?

    1. I'm not sure if either of us will visit. The last time Lady M was there it was on her return from Oz, so maybe she'll do the same again when the troubles are over(?).

  5. Bamboo scaffolding I expect. It works really well for Asian people. They know how to do it and are taught. Deaths by falls from bamboo scaffold, probably minimal. The Troubles over, Troubles as in Northern Ireland.

    1. I was really thinking of COVID-19 as 'troubles'.

  6. That will be a fabulous villa when it's finished. It looks solid enough to withstand any typhoons.

    1. The landscaping and furnishing will be of paramount importance, but I'm sure it'll be nice.

  7. I like the clean lines, large windows and the overhangs on both sides. Are the overhangs designed to block the sun in the Summer and allow greater sun exposure in cooler months? The infinity pool will be delightful, especially in the tropical heat. The construction looks well prepared for high wind typhoons. A tropical paradise in the making.

    1. It'll certainly be a practical home for the climate. I think he's thought of everything. It's not a big house, but plenty big enough.
