Billy and Amie.

It must be said that Billy's day is not complete if he hasn't played with his girlfriend, Amie. They adore each other.

Dogs enjoy the company of their 'keepers', but quite naturally they much prefer the company of fellow canines. Billy is never as happy as when he's playing with Amie.

Their games take a regular pattern. Amie finds something (above a Lily leaf) and taunts Billy with her 'trophy'.  Billy then (of course) tries to take it from her. They can play this game for ever.

  1. Great fun - Amie makes Billy look quite small.

    1. She's very big, heavy, and powerful; but Billy gives as good as he gets. Their games are very 'animated'.

  2. I always enjoy seeing animals play.
Let us hope they don't start playing with the vegetables, be less amusing for you then.

    1. My vegetables are imprisoned. Ever since I found a Deer sleeping underneath some Kale plants, I've made sure no animals can enter.

  4. Rick misses his French girlfriends - Fifi, Joy and Sybelle but he does quite like Tilly - his new English neighbour.

  5. I do agree Cro about how much dogs need the company of other dogs - they are pack animals in reality - and what a lovely photograph.

    1. Amie's owner took the photo. She comes by and stays a while as they play together.

  6. Excellent photo of Amie and Billy having a good romp. These friendships are very real. It also brings people together. Another plus for dog ownership.

    1. When I got my first dog, Hamlet, he was still a cute scruffy puppy, and people would stop me in the street to chat. Later when our first son was born people would do the same. I came to the obvious conclusion that if anyone was 'lonely'; they should get themselves either a baby or a puppy!

  7. I had read an article last week that no matter how much love an owner and their dog have for each other, dogs really are happier around another dog. That is funny because for many humans, a dog’s company is more preferable also.

    1. When you have the right dog in your house, the partnership is wonderful. I would find it difficult now not to have one.

    1. I think it is love; they even kiss each other (and the rest, unsuccessfully).
