Fromage Salat Tradition - Terroirs de gueuletons

One final pre-Christmas trip with our favourite Bons Vivants Arthur and Vincent, as they visit the Cantal region of central France, meet some Cows, and learn all about the making of the delicious 'Salers' cheese.

'Salers' is a mature, farmhouse, version of Cantal cheese; almost as good as a mature Cheddar.

    1. They are so typical of life here; any excuse for an impromptu meal, is always grabbed!

  3. It's nice to see the cows in the fields eating real grass. Not a sight to be taken for granted in this globalist monoculture age.

    1. The 'entre-deux' is our everyday favourite cheese, but when we can afford it, we buy the Salers.

  5. Thank you! These videos are wonderful. I am not a French speaker, but I don't need to be for enjoyment of these videos. The background scenery isn't to be overlooked. Beautiful!

    1. I put them here because they show life as it really is... not touristy, or pictures of perfect life. Just a couple of down to earth local boys enjoying themselves.

    1. The 'Salers' cheese is very good. It is always made on the farm, and there are very few producers. It is NEVER a commercial factory-made cheese. It's also quite expensive.

  8. I love French cheese. As to Mature Cheddar Cro - I love it too but only very specialist cheese shops sell the real thing these days - most so called 'Mature' cheddar is nothing but a pale imitation.

    1. I know what you mean, but when you find it, it's wonderful. Salers is always good, as it is a strictly 'farmhouse' cheese.
