Hello Yael. Yes, I see you've been having dreadful trouble with your neighbours again, and as usual Israel is being accused of being 'heavy-handed'. Nothing changes!
Every Wednesday evening the university Film Society used to show Foreign language films (doesn’t that sound delightfully old-fashioned nowadays) and Jacques Tati was always my favourite. Thanks for a lovely reminder Cro.
I posted the same many years ago and many other clips from Tati movies. A Vietnamese chap said I had an unhealthy interest in Tati movies, but I just love them. I cannot find on Youchube a clip of where a lad bangs his fist on the boot of car, leading to the person in the car in front accusing the one behind of hitting his/her car.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME ..........

Optimistic Cro!
The difference between an optimist and a pessimist, is that the optimist enjoys himself whilst waiting for the inevitable! I AM that optimist!
This is a daily, optimistic, 'photos and comments' blog. I make no judgements (only occasionally), just notes. If you wish to comment in any way at all, please feel free. Everything and everyone (except the obdurate and dictatorial) is very welcome.
I was born just south of London, but for the past 50 years I've lived in S W France. I am a painter by profession, and writer by desire. Lady Magnon and I live between an ancient cottage in a tiny village in perfectly tranquil French countryside, and a bijou townhouse in Brighton UK. In France we have plenty of fruit trees, all situated amongst a view that takes the breath away, in the UK we have a handkerchief sized patio. We also have a Border Collie called Billy. I try to treat our planet with respect, and encourage others to do likewise (without preaching).
Contentment is a glass of red, a plate of charcuterie, and a slice of good country bread. Perfect!
Good morning Cro, Sunday here is not like Sunday there, but I smiled.

ReplyDeleteI ran our Film Club at college, and I used to hire the most bizarre US underground films. Very avant garde!
DeleteA good smile..thankyou. And we have sunshine this morning too.
ReplyDeleteIt's windy here now, and the skies are darkening....
DeleteI'll watch Tati again.
Used to love Tati - haven't seen that before though.
ReplyDeleteI love his restraint. Funny guy.

ReplyDeleteWell, that would be the boot of the front car, the driver of which accused the driver of the car behind. I guess you knew what I meant.
DeleteThere's no such thing as 'an unhealthy interest in Tati'; he's worth all the interest we show in him.
DeleteHe was great.
ReplyDeleteIn an unassuming way.
DeleteWatching this was a nice start to my day.
ReplyDeleteCan't be bad, can it.
DeleteYou've just initiated a Tati virgin. What a nice Sunday surprise on the rare, almost freezing morning in the Louisiana swamps. I thank you! :-)
ReplyDeleteThat pleases me (not your weather; but the Tati initiation). You must watch M Hulot's Holiday; it's a classic.
DeleteI too have never seen any Tati before. That was definitely entertaining. Love that old house!
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen that one before either. It's afternoon now but I still smiled!
ReplyDeleteOh that house! All the levels, the stairs, the windows. I want it.
