It's almost like living in a bakery.
With a couple of grandsons (and their Papa) arriving today, Lady Magnon is taking her grandmotherly duties very seriously, and she's been baking to her little heart's content.
Yesterday it was yet more Mince Pies, and an Apple and Cinnamon Cake; her efforts were boundless.
One thing's for certain; they'll be no shortage of buns, pies, or cakes, when the boys are here.
I just hope they appreciate all her efforts;...... of course they will.
I'm off to the airport after lunch; they'll be here in time for tea.
How wonderful! I know how excited you must be to see them!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait; I hope they're be getting excited too.
DeleteLooks good - I can almost smell that cake.
ReplyDeletePlease say hello to my nephew and great nephews.
Will do!
DeleteWhat a wonderful feeling.
ReplyDeleteA week of fun ahead of us.
DeleteSensible Granny. Now everything is ready in advance for the arrival of the boys and papa.
ReplyDeleteShe's been very excited.... making beds, baking, etc. She loves it.
DeleteOf course the cakes and buns and pies will all be enjoyed....they were made with love....and you must be so excited about the visit..have fun.
ReplyDeleteWe will, thanks Libby.
DeleteWe hope Lady M will take time to enjoy the visit too. It all looks delicious - what lucky boys !
ReplyDeleteThey're pampered; and so they should be. If grandparents can't make a big fuss of them; who can?
DeleteIt's been a while since their last visit - it will be a great reunion and I bet the pies and cakes will go down a treat - good old Lady M.
ReplyDeleteWe haven't seen them for ages. I think they look forward to all the cakes, etc.
DeleteGetting the baking done in advance will free up time to enjoy their stay. Very sensible.
ReplyDeleteThat apple and cinnamon cake sounds lovely.
It smelt wonderful when baking; no doubt it will taste as good.
DeleteEnjoy your boys - and the cakes!
ReplyDeleteHorrible weather here, Sue, and it's forecast to continue for another week (at least). Still, you can't have everything.
DeleteNo swimming then! Enjoy the visit.
ReplyDeleteThe option will be on the table; but I doubt if it'll be accepted.
DeleteI like a home where mince pies aren't saved just for Christmas. x
ReplyDeleteIt's essential in this house; I demand Mince Pies all year round.
DeleteI would....if I wasn't the person making them!
DeleteTea being the operative word by the looks of it Cro. Don't expect it will last that long with two hungry boys.
ReplyDeleteShe has more in reserve, in the freezer.
DeleteHow exciting! It is a grandparents job to spoil their grandchildren. Enjoyxxxx
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely.
DeleteWhether spoiling or bribing, I do it to get them to come home though I'm exhausted afterward. It is sweet that you both are excited. I think my husband gets more excited than I do - probably due to which one has to do most of the work.
ReplyDeleteI'm just back from the airport! Boys very excited.
DeleteWhat a loving "nonna" lady M is, and Cro, I hope you have you been practicing your table tennis? Greetings Maria x
ReplyDelete...sorry a "you" too many
ReplyDeleteWe've already had a game. They love it.
DeleteI'm guessing that by the time I type this, you all might be happily gathered together round the tea table. How wonderful to be welcomed by Lady M's delicious baking. There was once a commercial with a tune that said, "nothin' says lovin' like something from the oven." I think that there's still truth in that notion.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes to you all.
Yes, the first thing they did was to eat buns and play Ping Pong. They're now taking Bok for a walk before supper.
DeleteIt is what we do. We did not give our own kids lots of sugar, but when we become grandparents, the sugar factory went into overtime.
ReplyDeleteThe winter blues will be on hold while your grandchildren and son visit. Have fun!
It's fun time for a week. Lovely to have them here.
DeleteWho wouldn't appreciate the effort! Sounds heavenly.
ReplyDeleteThey've already been tucking-in; I think she'll have to bake a lot more.
DeleteA week of baked goods and family .... what could be better. Enjoy every minute Cro. XXXX
ReplyDeleteA week of pleasure for all. Lovely.
