Bloody weather.

Of course, they're not always right, but when I saw this I despaired. Have you ever seen a more ghastly forecast!

The idea of day upon day of rain, which is quite common at this time of year, is depressing; mostly because I can just picture all the grass growing, and not being able to do anything about it. If there's one thing I really don't like, it's my various patches of grass becoming overgrown and scruffy.

Otherwise the temperatures are OK; 13/14 C in the early mornings, and 20/24 C in the afternoons.

I may not be able to type for the next few days; my fingers will be permanently crossed, hoping that this doesn't actually happen.

  1. It could be worse, 5 days of overnight frosts, like we've been having. Be grateful man.

    1. Actually, this morning we've already had sunshine, and I think it'll remain dry. The last thing I want is frost; my tom plants are over 20 inches tall.

    1. The temperature is OK, and I suppose a certain amount of rain is handy too, but I live a busy outdoor life, and too much precipitation puts everything on hold.

  5. The weather often turns out better than the forecast, in my experience.
I sometimes wonder if they do it on purpose for some obscure reason.

  7. Those temperatures sound great to me! It is chilly here on Cape Cod, but generally sunny with occasional spots of rain.

    1. I always say to tourists here, if you want to know what our weather is like, just look at the landscape.

  11. We are desperate for rain here, weeks without anything but an odd sprinkle. Frosts at night, so it's a good job I am too far behind to have put any sensitive plants out.

  16. I'd take the rain...last week it snowed and it stuck around for two days.

  17. We've got wind, sunshine, hail and snow at the moment and my boy is at an outdoor pursuits centre for 2 days with school, then camping with the Cubs for 3 days next weekend - I hope he considers it to be character building, it's freezing up here!!!

  19. Tons of rain here too, with high winds thrown in just for fun. Helped a neighbor move a large tree branch that had been downed.

  20. Rain is depressing to me. If it's going to rain, I wish it were at night. I need sunshine and yet, our weather has been very rainy this spring. That being said, this coming Saturday is World Naked Gardening Day, which I'll be posting about this weekend,
