Being positive.

I made a short list recently (I do like lists) of how I could improve my life. Not that I'm a negative person, but I do need to remind myself occasionally.

1. Appreciate everything/everyone more than I already do.

2. Be kinder about people of loony political persuasions.

3. Become two-sevenths vegetarian.

4. Only complain inwardly about my aches and pains.

5. Accept more readily that others can occasionally be right.

6. Admit that 'Rap' is actually an acceptable form of music.

7. Never make regional, national, or religious generalisations.

8. Look forwards, rather than into the past.

9. Work harder.

10. Be more tolerant of idiots, fools, and numskulls.

12. Accept that wearing sandals with calf-length socks is OK when abroad.

13. Look upon 'celebs' as normal people.

14. Resist the desire to slap certain people (celebs).

15. Accept that it's OK for people to become extremely rich simply by having a huge arse or big tits.

That's it for the moment, or I might find myself becoming socially acceptable; and that would never do!

  1. That's a great list, Cro. Good luck with it! Haha!

I could stand to try to do a couple of these, too. But I'm not sure I could ever accept Rap as a legitimate form of music! :)

    1. These are only 'proposals'. Not all will be achievable!

  2. Oh Cro... and man after my own heart! I also have big tits and arse, and I'm sure my personality is much more pleasant than some I could mention.... am I missing something?

  4. Rap as an acceptable form of music - no, no, never!

    1. I did think it was taking things a bit TOO far.

  5. With rap, just expand comment to the whole hip-hop genre -- there are some magnificent, flawless voices at work in it.

  6. I think I would find most of your list hard to achieve - I think I'm just too set in my ways. Good luck with your attempt.

  7. Why Cro you have always appeared to me to be nigh on perfect so I don't believe you need this list of reminders at all.

    1. Well, of course you're right, but there's always a tiny bit of room for improvement.

    1. I answer to most things; Crog is one of the least offensive.

  10. If you achieve all those improvements you might struggle to find something to blog about....as would we all. I'd struggle with 5 and 14 the most.

    1. Are you suggesting that I use this as an excuse?

  11. Despite no 15, I'm still not rich LOL
I found out why the low light house has the stripe. Apparently the high light house has one too, so "By lining them up, the exact bearing of the deep water channel into the Parrett estuary could be located. A vessel would line up the lights one above the other to show the entrance to the channel. In daylight, the same principle can be applied by lining up the broad vertical red stripes on both towers."

    1. I knew there would have to be a reason other than aesthetics. Thank you.

    2. It's true, we do learn something new every day- especially with this blogging lark :-)
I wouldn't have ever thought about the stripes on light houses if you hadn't made your comment, thanks Cro!

  12. I think that is more or less my list too Cro - I could add be determined not to groan when I stand up from sitting down, or vice versa.

  13. I thought we were all about 2 7ths vegetarian? Kath has already made my point about the short-fall of millionaires with big arses.

    1. I'm still only 1 7th; I'm aspiring to 2 7ths.

  14. Nice list Cro......one we could all aspire to.

  15. Tolerance of everybody and everything is an impossible task, but wouldn't we all be better off if we could just let somethings go and accept other's differences. I find that my outrage and judgement of people's opinions and lifestyles has waned as I get older and so have my stomach problems.

  16. EOG - early onset grumpiness. I think we all get it eventually if we live that long. Very good list though, in theory. Except for the rap crap - it is noise, not music. That and fado, I cannot bear to listen to.
