Picky Pony.

Dobbin refuses to eat his crusts; he just goes for the best bits, in the soft tasty interior.

  1. The equine equivalent to not eating one's crusts! Would it help to warn him that his hair won't be curly is he doesn't eat the outside bits as well?

  2. Maybe he's making a shelter. In case it snows again.

  3. An old farmer friend only told me this summer that when hay begins to rot on the inside, all the animals go mad for it - looks like Dobbin does too.

  4. Rotting hay must be the equivalent of silage which always smells pretty good to me.

    1. I love the smell of 'good' young silage. It often reminds me of sweet licorice.

  5. Pony Dobbin looks to be the same size and color as my miniature jackass Doolin. Long lost brothers perhaps.

  6. If the hay is rotting, could it also be fermenting? Is he really just catching a buzz?! LOL
