Confined to Barracks.

We are having some really foul, early Spring, weather at the moment. It's either freezing bloody cold, snowing, or pouring; not conducive to venturing outdoors too much. Of course the dogs aren't bothered about weather, they just want to be running around, no matter what.

But if the boss says NO, the next best thing is to curl up by the fire, maybe watch an episode of Dog Martin on TV, or just sleep.

And the same goes for me (but not on the floor)!

    1. At the moment it's going almost all the time. At night it just 'ticks over', ready to get going again in the morning. It uses A LOT of wood.

    2. I was just trying to estimate. I reckon we've got through about 5 cu metres of wood this winter, and it ain't over yet!

  3. Lovely picture - they look as if they understand everything you are saying. The weather is foul here too - any chance of spring arriving any time soon?

  4. We can learn a lot from hounds in this weather.

I think I'm going to produce and market human-sized dog beds, the furry igloo kind. There's always a danger that I may just crawl into the prototype and not emerge again until April...

  7. I've decided I am going to hibernate until about the first week of April. (It is currently freezing and wet in Wiltshire - brrrr!)

  8. I was hoping you'd do a post about your best buds. When things get a little too serious, we need a "Monty-Bok" fix to pull us back to what is really important...family and friends, even the furry kind.

  10. Our dogs have been spending a lot of time indoors also; our weather is similar. We are amid the battle between winter and spring. Do you get tornadoes?

    1. That's probably the ONLY thing we don't get; everything else in abundance!

  11. I can practically feel the heat from your stove. I've spent many a cold evening watching my dogs languishing near a similar heat source.

  12. Is your stove inside a ginormous fireplace?

You can see the "oh please!" look in their eyes....

    1. Yes, it's in a big open fireplace; which used to be the kitchen, and all the old kit is still there. It must have been a nightmare to cook anything in Summer! HOT.
