Sofa so good.

We have two sofas in the sitting room; one each (ignore the mess). Lady M's is on the left, and mine on the right.

Underneath all those 'throws' and cushions, they are both plain off white (matching), and are extremely comfortable. They are the sort of sofas that entice one into an afternoon siesta on a hot Summer's day.

But there was a problem. Lady M's sofa recently sprung a spring. She summoned me as the house handyman, and demanded that I fetch my Heath Robinson book of 'How to fix just about anything'; and mend it.

I gave it a cursory glance, performed some basic surgery so that I could inspect the interior, then with the help of an old wire hanger, I did my best to make it perfect again.

Sadly, although it did strengthen it, it didn't really solve the problem, and I threw-in the towel.

We discussed the alternatives. Buy two new sofas, take her sofa apart and re-build it, or simply allow her to sink further down towards the floor.

Then Lady M shouted 'EUREKA', and showed me an object that she had found on the net.

It was a 'Sofa Rejuvenator Board'; a folding 'board' that lies underneath the cosy cushions, and makes your sagging sofa well again. I was given the task of asking Mr Amazon if he would supply one, and he did so, at the bargain price of just twenty quid.

Well, the 'Saggy Sofa Saver' has now arrived, been installed and tested, and I can assure you that it works.

Verdict: 10/10, her sofa is back to its old self again.

I had no idea that such wonderful things existed. It's amazing what you can find on the net!

I have a sofa similar to yours, and the same problem. It's good that almost every problem has a solution. I'll look into this option.

Problem solved.

A long piece of plywood would do the same, but we didn't have any. This was a simple solution.

Yes, and painless.

I noticed that too, I wonder why the advert changed it from two to three??? The 'sofa saver' is just underneath the cushions, and simply stops any sagging. It makes the sofa feel like new again.

Brilliant! Growing up with 8 siblings who loved to jump on beds (we had a piano in one of the bedrooms we would climb on and jump on the bed). Dad had to use all kinds of things to compensate for his crazy kids. And, Cro, you could trade sofas with your brilliant wife, but that doesn't really work because those things form around us. Remember Archie Bunker and his chair? I saw it in the Smithsonian.

Beds and sofas are like trampolines for children, and we've all had fun attempting to destroy their springs. I think we'll stick with our own sofas, I might even have to buy another 'sofa saver' for my own. They must be 20 years old, or more.

Many things seem to sag with advancing age. Just ask Katie Price (aka Jordan). Unfortunately her sagging can't be fixed with a "Saggy Sofa Saver".
