On my gosh!!! Maybe I should have had it on mute to read the lyrics! My husband's survey ship was converted into a hospital ship during the Falklands War but I still cried when the General Belgrano was sunk.
I've always thought of submarines as being a bit 'cowardly'.

I never realised that causing destruction and death with torpedoes could be such a jolly pastime.
The music itself is particularly 'jolly', almost from 'Listen with Mother'.
Certainly a joyful tune for a war time sub. Contradiction, that's the spirit.
