I may not have found any Crumpets, but I have found these very nice Muffins.
Not at all the same thing as Crumpets, but they are treated in much the same way. Ours were halved, toasted, and covered with thick butter and the world's very best Tayberry Jam (my own).
Now, if only I could get M Epid'OR to try his hand at Crumpets; I'd be a very happy Cro.
I shall now not mention Crumpets again; unless, of course, my prayers are answered

We have crumpets here and they are often very cheap in supermarkets. We buy them occasionally, half a dozen for AU$2. The savoury muffins of my childhood are still around but the sweet blueberry muffins are very popular now.
What is Tayberry jam? It looks really yummy! This last summer I made jalapeno blackberry jam. It was light on the jalapeno so you just get a little zing and not a fire when you bite into it. But it's so so delicious on a bagel with cream cheese. Now I want some for breakfast and it's too late to shop now. Anyway, your concoction looked wonderful!
You always make me want to go shopping, but i just came back with some vegetables and yougort.
Mufpets. You could have them posted. They would be quite resilient to the rigours of transport.
Now I thought that muffins were the sweet little/large cakey things that are cooked in paper cases and rise over and out of the cases. Hence the expression 'muffin top' above and beyond my waistband.

France has yet to appreciate the splendours of the Crumpet; they will in time.
Tayberries are BIG raspberries. I grow a lot of them, and Jam is a good solution to my over-production.
I'm just back from shopping. I also bought vegs and yog.
I WILL find some one day. I know they are sold here, it's just a matter of finding their hidden shop.
The names Crumpet, Muffin, and Pikelet, all seem to mean different things in different areas. Take your choice.

That jam looks delicious. I had never heard of tayberries, I see from a previous comment that they're large raspberries. Nothing like raspberry jam! Yum!
I do butter or jam, never both. I am sure, though, that it tastes marvelous.
I also made some Tayberry and Strawberry Jam, which was very good too.
And the butter dribbles down your chin!

...and I eat crumpets with butter and vegemite. None of that sweet stuff for me!
Thanks for that; it sounds exactly the same as the recipe I have from YouTube.... but I guess it would be. We shall certainly have a go this week.
My jam was so quick and easy to make, and so delicious too. It tastes of summer.
