John (Going Gently) recently posted a beautiful video of a man playing 'Moon River' on the piano, for an Elephant (who was listening attentively).
I love that song, but for me it has to be sung by my boyhood crush, Audrey Hepburn.
Who sang your favourite version?
How did Kimbo's game go and who did he play for Hertfordshire ?
ReplyDeleteI've heard that they LOST. He used to live in Bishop's Stortford, and simply continued playing for them, even though he lives down here. His old Brighton team wanted him back, but he stayed with BS.
DeleteSuch a lovely song and brings back an awful lot of childhood memories for me of big family gatherings and everyone had to sing, I sang that song, badly I hasten to add thank you
ReplyDeleteEven 'done badly', it's still a lovely song.
DeleteAndy Williams
ReplyDeleteThe old smoothy!
DeleteMy parents had the Andy Williams recording so just for nostalgia's sake I have to say that one.
ReplyDeleteI expect he sold the most records of it.
DeleteAudrey Hepburn singing this brings back happy memories of the film, but Andy William's version was probably played more. I had Andy Williams record but liked both.
ReplyDeleteAW had the hit version, but AH was the sexiest.
DeleteAndy Williams for me, he was a great crooner.
ReplyDeleteHe certainly was. I didn't fancy him; but I did Hepburn!
DeleteIt's got to be Audrey every time. She was so beautiful and I truly lovely person. Regards Sue H
ReplyDeleteI totally agree!
DeleteAW version was my parents song and played at both of their funerals 🥹
ReplyDeleteA lovely song with some rather sad memories for you.
DeleteQ. Who sang your favourite version?
ReplyDeleteA. Jerry Butler
I don't know his version, I shall have to search YouTube.
DeleteAudrey was the best for that ethereal quality.
ReplyDeleteShe gives me goosebumps.
DeleteThere is nobody like AH. Lovely.
ReplyDeleteShe was indeed.
