I haven't seen The Cherub for several years (other than on WhatsApp). After leaving France he's moved around the world; adventure after adventure.
He's lived in Oz, Mexico, Florida, Cayman, and now in Thailand (amongst other countries). He's a well travelled young man.
He and his big brother Boo Boo are having what I consider to be the best education possible for boys of their ages. They go to school of course, and as long as they gain the right qualifications in order to chose what to do when they leave, they will have had a really solid start on which to base their future lives. Nothing compares to the experience of travel, and seeing the world at first hand.
When I was at school several of my friends lived abroad, and they always seemed 'worldlier' than the rest of us.
I don't think either of them are 'sporty'. They do like swimming, but I haven't heard that they play traditional games such as Rugby, Cricket, or Tennis. Maybe they do?
Anyway, I'm pleased to see that they don't spend all their time twiddling their thumbs on a phone. Here he is playing a board game against his Uncle Kimbo. Kimbo didn't mention who won!
How much he has grown. I remember him as a little boy. There is no doubt that the big world he has been exposed to has only done him good.
ReplyDeleteYes, I'm sure it has. Being 'worldly' can only be a good thing.
DeleteYou may have to find a new nickname for him soon!
ReplyDeleteHe's looking a lot less cherubic than he used to. We'll have to think of something.
DeleteWhat a marvellous start to their lives. The world really is their oyster. They are set up to experience life to the full. I wonder what their future will be. As you do. So many roads they could follow.
ReplyDeleteAnyway he's still a lovely looking lad.
Spit spit spit
Both he and his brother are very bright boys. I think they'll do OK in life.
DeleteNice boy, though you really will soon have to think of new names to call them! Hopefully, as the old order changes, they will survive and thrive!
ReplyDeleteHe's actually called Mischa, which is how he's addressed to his face. It's only when I'm writing about him that I call him TC.
DeleteVery little cricket or rugby are played in Thailand. Maybe The Cherub and Boo Boo are into Thai boxing (Muay Thai). I feel sad that you haven't seen the lads in so long.
ReplyDeleteYes, it's a shame that we haven't seen them growing-up. It was so nice when they were living in France at their beautiful converted barn. The boys used to pop down for lunch or tea. It was lovely.
DeleteTime to go for a visit?
ReplyDeleteI think they may be coming here next year. Lady M visited them quite recently.
DeleteWorld travel is always beneficial. Seeing how the other people live is a wonderful experience. That said, I wish they could travel to England and France to visit with you too. 2-3 weeks in these countries would be equally nice.
ReplyDeleteMy son and his family have very itchy feet, so I don't suppose it'll be long before they visit Europe again. We might even see them this summer in France.
