You may remember that I recently predicted that Tulip would have to go; well now she has.
In her resignation letter to Sir Keir 'freebie' Starmer, she continued to distance herself from any wrong-doing. Well she would, wouldn't she! Sadly for her, the evidence has now been splashed all over the press. Red faces are everywhere! Some people have absolutely no shame.
British comedian, 65 year old Tony Slattery has died. His consumption of two bottles of Vodka a day, and £4,000 worth of Cocaine a week, finally caught-up with him, and his heart gave way. RIP.
Over in LA, predictably the looters have turned-up. When I read the article about this charming bunch below, they were eager to point out that they all came from outside the city. They had all targeted the disaster area in order to take advantage of other people's misery. What a nasty bunch they are; and they look it too! I hope they all receive extremely heavy sentences.
Meanwhile over in mainland Europe, France, Greece, and Portugal are joining Spain in their attack on both British tourists and second-home owners. The very people who brought prosperity to some of the most deprived areas of Europe, are now being taxed and attacked, and made to feel unwelcome. So, thank you Europe, we invested huge amounts of money buying and restoring your old properties to bring you out of your poverty, and this is how you now say "Thank you".
I also predicted that Israel would come to some agreement with Gaza. It looks as if I could be right, but any agreement would have to involve the return of ALL the hostages. We shall see; trying to do a deal with terrorists is never easy!
And, oh my goodness, the recent allegations by Dianne Abbott of an 'affair' between Starmer and Rayner, have made Rayner's selection as his Deputy Prime Minister more understandable. Everyone had always wondered how and why she was given the job.
And as if all that wasn't enough, a woman in France, known only as 'Anne', is upset after giving a fake online Brad Pitt £700,000. I really have no words to say about this.
Meanwhile, also in France, Paris's wonderful 'Gaité Lyrique' theatre, close to The Notre Dame, has been occupied by over 300 W African migrants, who have set up camp inside. CHARMING. They really do know how to make themselves welcome in their new country of choice!
Nothing much more of interest this week. It's the post-Christmas lull.
I'm surprised that Tulip resigned, not to worry, she'll not be difficult to replace.
ReplyDeleteI doubt that Rayner is giving him one, I thought she was there to stop the big boys bullying him.
You forgot to mention his visit to Auschwitz. We best be careful as I suspect the bugger was measuring the place up.
Nothing more has been said about Dianne Abbott's allegations. I wonder why?
DeleteGood morning Cro, it's a very tense day here. Yesterday at ten in the morning we were still running to the shelter because of a Houthi missile from Yemen. Nothing is certain today. Something could happen at any moment.
ReplyDeleteOur fingers are crossed. It all depends on whether or not Hamas can be trusted.
DeleteThere is no evidence whatsoever that Keir Starmer has had any kind of unprofessional relationship with Angela Rayner. This is scurrilous nonsense put about by a couple of right wing "news" channels - in fact just made up. Angela Rayner was elected by the vast Labour membership to her position as Deputy Leader and Mr Starmer played no part in that decision. We should avoid giving oxygen to such lies.
ReplyDeleteIt must have been 'made-up' by Dianne Abbott, not any right wing press. She was the one who spilled the beans. Goodness knows if it's true or not.
DeleteI guess Dianne got confused again. Angela is a good thirty years too old to attract an MP. Notwithstanding the grief he'd get from Lord Alli.

DeleteI've heard about the changes in Spain and France and in Greece. It's an EU country . There are loads of British home owners on the island. I think the majority have their residents permits so can stay all year round.
ReplyDeleteThere are plenty more old houses to renovate but prices have skyrocketed. I don't think there will be many more bought up. Except by Israelis seeking a haven. We've had quite an influx.
Bulgaria and Romania are now popular with very cheap property
If we hadn't left the EU, none of this would be happening. What a big mistake it was.
DeleteBasically this is to stop buy-to-let investors which is said to be driving up the price of housing and putting house prices above the reach of locals. The measure is happening right across the world, not just Europe and Spain are now following suit. It has little or nothing to do with Brexit. It is not only driving British investors out, it is driving investors out from around the world. If you live in the property for six months or more each year you will be exempt from the tax. But buy-to-let investors don't.
DeleteThe only reason it will hit British second-home owners, is because of Brexit. Previously we were classified along with everyone else.
DeleteAh yes I agree we get caught that way.
DeleteGee thanks Cro, another depressing Sunday, haha! Thankfully my sunny nature can overcome it all and happily potter about in the garden this cold morning.
ReplyDeleteCold here too, but never too cold for a good laugh!
DeleteGood Lord Cro, where on earth do you get your news from?
ReplyDeleteCould you provide a couple of links to the Starmer/Rayner story as I missed that one completely.
I can't find it again. Annoying as it sounded like a 'ticking bomb'.
DeleteWhat a selection of miserable things for a dark and gloomy Sunday 🤣. As for Tulip !! ..... and, in charge of regulating corruption in the financial sector as well !!!... you couldn't make it up ! News of the LA fires seem to have taken a bit of a back seat but that often happens when bigger news comes along. XXXX
ReplyDeleteTulip is a disgrace, and for Starmer to give her his full support (knowing what we all did) was even worse.
DeleteA good summary of the news this week Cro., though I missed the Starmer/Raynor allegations too - obviously hushed up very quickly. Do they still throw people in the Tower for such salacious rumours?
ReplyDeleteI'm appalled that the popular EU holiday destinations are all "Brit Bashing". They all have short memories of the times when they welcomed us, and our money, and were glad to fleece us. How long before they come back with the begging bowl and say they didn't mean it!
Around here it's the Belgians, Netherlanders,
Ukranians and others from Eastern European countries who are buying up villas to let. Many of them buying from Brits at knock-down prices.
Last week my town had 140 migrants (from the Canary Islands) foisted on it, out of the blue - even the Town Hall knew nothing about their arrival until they turned up! So they are being put up in hotels of course, at tax payers expense. We have been promised (threatened?) that there will be many more coming to join those now here, in a town that has seasonal work only and most places are closed up for six months of the year making unemployment amongst locals high.
I don’t think it was “covered up”. You really think the Daily Mail would cover that up?
DeleteI've certainly seen no more about the Starmer/Rayner business. I wish I could remember where I read it. I'm very surprised it hasn't been mentioned again.
DeleteSuspect what you saw was garbage. It doesn’t come up on a Google search.
DeleteI just looked it up, and only found YouTube videos. Originally I had read a newspaper article, but I can't remember from where.
DeleteAs I said garbage. You cannot tell me the Daily Mail wouldn’t be over that like a dirty shirt if it were true.
DeleteAlways check sources and for heavens sake never believe stuff that is only on social media, you can end up going down lots of rabbit holes.
Meant to say the only video I could find was someone reporting Abbott had accused Starmer - but there was no footage of Abbott.
DeleteLooking forward to you take on the inauguration and first day in office. The good thing the Ukraine war will be over by end of Tuesday!
I don't read The Daily Mail, my news comes from MSN. Yes, I was the same, I only found 'reports'. I expect the article I read has been scrapped.
DeleteThese days people seem to have no bounds. Everything is up for grabs. It is not a good look.
ReplyDelete3 hostages from Israel were released today. Biden announced the cease fire will lead to a 2- state solution.
That is the only long-term solution. The important thing now is that Hamas behave themselves, and don't prompt another reaction like the last one.
