This is such a good story; I just had to share it with you. People got together to 'speak' to a deaf man through sign language, without his knowing what was going on. It was all secretly filmed in Istanbul, and this video is the result.
Well done to all those who took part. With so many around us who try to upset our lives, it's good to see kind-hearted people who make an effort to do the opposite. Get your Kleenex ready.
So lovely. Thanks for sharing this Cro. I had no tissues so I had to wipe my eyes on the sleeve of my dressing gown.
ReplyDeleteWring it out later, you can use it for making Tea.
DeleteJust lovely…. a ray of sunshine in these dark times. XXXX
ReplyDeleteJust right for Monday morning.
DeleteI have been learning sign language for 4 years, no reason, just some thing I wanted to do, now I have also learnt Makaton, which I use with my disabled grandson. I think it's go to know something different. I am trying to learn American finger spelling as well, again just because.
ReplyDeleteI've always wanted to learn sign language, and I've encouraged my children to do so. Sadly none of us ever has!!!
DeleteLook online and find the fingerspelling abc, it would help in a crisis.
DeleteI think the world has more kind hearted people than we think, its just that the meanies get all the press.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you, such a lovely story.

I've just driven past the 'dials', I didn't see you.
DeleteI agree cro, most people are kind and thoughtful. We are seeing this daily at the border of Poland and ukraine
ReplyDeleteThe Poles are being very generous, it's good to see. Those poor people, I really feel for them.
DeleteLovely, restores your faith doesn't it.
ReplyDeleteYes, very touching.
DeleteDelightful video!
ReplyDeleteIt has 'feel good' factor.
DeleteGreat story. Acts of kindness renew our faith in humanity.
ReplyDeleteJust what we need with all the depressing news around.
DeleteI have watched this video several times. Makes me happy. His first surprise at the Good Morning is so adorable.
ReplyDeleteHe seems such a 'humble' person too.
DeleteBeing very deaf myself I find this very moving.
ReplyDeleteOh that made me cry, it's so beautiful to see.
ReplyDeleteThat was lovely. My niece became deaf fifty years ago, at age 6 months. We learned sign. Then she moved far away, with her husband. Now all we remember is the alphabet; we see her so seldom. And we all write very fast.
