As a bit of a foodie, I suppose that MasterChef should be amongst my favourite TV programmes; but it isn't.
MasterChef has become a classic over recent years. This UK TV show is now shown, or made, in over 60 countries, and takes various forms.
Anyway, here's a bit from an earlier series.
I reckon the only good ones are (or were as I have.not seen it for some time) the Junior ones. I always liked the way they supported each other. It was.the Australian ones that I saw.
ReplyDeleteThe only ones I saw contained people imitating what they thought of as 'trendy'.
DeleteI love Masterchef. The last UK professionals had some amazing young chefs taking part.
ReplyDeleteI have watched it in the past.. not the pro's, but with amateurs.
DeleteAgree, Masterchef professionals is wonderful. I still remember the series which Ash won. He was a personal chef with an interest in Basque cuisine. His two finalists were incredibly young...both have since returned on Masterchef and both have grown professionally.
DeleteI miss Michel Roux
Haha ! I’m not a Gordon Ramsey fan ( that’s putting it mildly ) but that was funny ! James Corden makes me laugh ( even though he’s git a bit too big for his boots ! ) I don’t like Celebrity Masterchef but the Professionals are good as is Masterchef Australia. XXXX
ReplyDeleteMaybe I'll start watching it again.
DeleteHere is already the tenth season of the show in the local version and I really like it. This is especially good in times like these instead of the news.
ReplyDeleteAnything is preferable to The News.
DeleteI long since got bored with the cooking programmes where it is so far distant from anything I might cook...spots of this and dabs of that and " foam" etc. . I prefer more down to earth cooking like Rick Stein, Hairy Bikers or even Nigella, to name a few!
ReplyDeleteI particularly like Rick Stein, his shows are history, travel, and food; all things that interest me. He seems a nice character too.
DeleteI've never watched the Junior version, but the adult ones are good. I sit there thinking how nice it would be to have someone cook for me, just once!
ReplyDeleteAs the cook of the house, I often wonder what Lady M secretly thinks!
DeleteI enjoy watching cooking shows. especially Ina Garten. They are great distractions and if the hosts are fun and make the dishes look easy for viewers, it is good entertainment. I don’t watch Master Class, as that is out of my league of cooking.
ReplyDeleteRick Stein in India is fascinating. Try YouTube.
DeleteThat was so so funny! I love master chef but have never watched the juniors but that clip was the best.
ReplyDeleteI think it would be more interesting to watch the juniors than the seniors; they would probably be less pretentious.
DeleteAnthony Bourdain was one of my favourites.
ReplyDeleteBourdain isn't that well known on our side of the pond. Didn't he recently come to an untimely end?
DeleteYes in the Alsace.
DeleteWe're on to about the 7 th season here. It is better than the news as someone said. Fills in a few hours now and again on a winter night. I prefer Rick Stein and there are a few others, repeat after repeat, but still better than other cooking programmes
ReplyDeleteThere's a current series of 'Rick Stein's Cornwall'. Far less cooking, more of a travelogue. Very good TV.
DeleteI watched a few of the ordinary Masterchef in the early days but, frankly, just got bored and decided that, for me, there were more interesting things to do in life.
