I can't even tell you who won this year's race. I'm glad it's over, having hardly watched more than a few minutes of the whole tour.
Personally, I totally lost interest on the 13th, when both Bernal and Quintana dropped back with a dozen K's to the summit of The Grand Colombier.
I shall re-kindle my interest in 2021 (if there is a tour).
Interesting time trial upset yesterday. Nice to see such a young rider set to win today.
ReplyDeleteThey're all unknowns to me, I would liked to have seen a few Ineos boys performing well. I shan't even bother to watch the final K's.
DeleteI had no expectations for this tour but I found it so exciting and was delighted a young rider won on a time trial, without team support or control. He takes the yellow, white and polka dot jersey he’s only 21, his dream was simply to ride in the Tour. It’s almost unbelievable.
ReplyDeleteI'm afraid that after Sept 13th, I've hardly watched it. Usually I'm glued to my screen every late afternoon for the final 15 mins.
DeleteWe have been watching Roglic and Pogacha for at least a year..compatriots, rivals, but quick to congratulate where praise is due...similar to Geraint and Egon Bernal in a way
ReplyDeleteI can see that I'll have to catch-up on all these new (to me) names.
DeletePogacar pipped Roglic on the final time trial. I was in the kitchen but I could hear Paul yelling at the television. I have only watched bits of it. We still haven't agreed on how to pronounce Pogacar's name.
ReplyDeleteI turned on, on Saturday afternoon, saw it was a time trial, and turned off again.
DeletePronouced Po-Garcha. Emphasis on middle syllable Gar and the c is a ch sound.
ReplyDeleteThanks Rachel.
