To me it's not mess, it's simply a different type of organisation that just looks like mess.
Of course, I don't really need FOUR penknives by the side of my laptop, nor do I need my tiny 'picture-hanger's level' (foreground by pen), or several mobile phones (some working some not). But for some reason if they weren't there I'd probably panic.
You might be able to see, in the top picture, that I was looking at an old posting that I spotted on 'You might also like', entitled 'Bloody Awful Mess'. I wanted to compare the two messes to see if any 'improvements' have been made. I think the answer is 'No'.
In fact, with all the vegetables in storage I think it's five times worse. I can now hardly move. Lady Magnon is away for a while Christmas shopping in Blighty, so maybe I'll make a real effort, and move things about a bit.
Storage rooms aren't meant to be tidy are they??
ReplyDeleteThat's what I keep trying to explain.
DeleteBut where is the stove?
ReplyDeleteUnder a pile of books; literally!
DeleteOh dear, oh dear, oh dear - that room is my worst nightmare. OCD and all that!
ReplyDeleteMy storage room is immaculate ... for about two days, after I have a major tidy and organisation session. It soon returns to being a mess. Unfortunately it doesn't contain any butternut squash - what a harvest.
ReplyDeleteMakes me feel ill to look at it, Cro. It must be a man thing. You and Keith would get on soooo well!!
ReplyDeleteStill a bloody awful mess.
ReplyDeleteGosh, Cro, so impressed you can find anything! I am at this time re-organizing my in/out boxes which I thought were a mess. Thanks for making me feel neat! ;-)
ReplyDeletemoving things around a bit? That's not going to advance the organization of it all! Throw everything out the door and then make painstaking decisions about what goes back in, and where.
ReplyDeleteMucky pup
ReplyDeleteYou're an artist Cro. Right brain dominant. You can't be creative and have a tidy mind.
ReplyDeleteMy god - I thought my workshop was untidy.
ReplyDeleteI'm impressed with those pears.
ReplyDeleteTotally agree with Rusty Duck! hope you're feeling better x
ReplyDeleteThat's my daughter's house. One does not step. One shuffles through the floor.
ReplyDeleteI've finally come to the realization that there is no point. You tidy it up today and tomorrow it's a mess again. Just throw a sheet over it.
ReplyDeleteWowza! Okay, I have to admit - that would drive me right out of my mind. In fact, my den reached a state that has been so disturbing to me that it launched a an organizational overhaul. I'm spending this weekend clearing the room I have our computers in. But it wasn't actually THIS cluttered to begin with.
ReplyDeleteCro - you're making me feel so much better.
ReplyDeleteAnd you inspire us all to get cracking. Plenty of indoor time coming with winter. No excuses for any of us--unless, of course, we really just like it that way.
ReplyDeletewell at least your truthful picture makes me feel like I'm not the only wife to suffer their husbands "organization" problems.
ReplyDeleteHey, hope your feeling better, getting old sucks.
I love that view of your computer space. I can relate to it completely. Just checking around mine I realise it sits amongst lots of collector's curios, but working things inlclude a watchmaker's eyeglass, items I've been listing on Trade Me, a Lindt chocolate bunny bell, a torch radio, and a pistol ... A working pistol? Oh no no, it's a working cap gun and the caps are there too! Hmm tidying up is far less interesting than doing something new.
ReplyDeleteAnd i bet that if you need something on the desk or in the storage space, you know just where to find it. I'm more of a piler than a filer, so i understand your system of organising things.
ReplyDeleteStill, i had a look round today and realised that things have gotten out of hand, so i shall have a tidying up session tomorrow.
That's part of the 'problem'. If Lady M asks me for a 'three quarter inch blue grombit with a rounded end', I know EXACTLY where to find one! If I tidied-up; I wouldn't.
DeleteI agree with Megan, I bet you know where everything is. And only YOU can find it! That is the way my desk is. You should see my husband's garage. I hate going in there. Can't find a thing when you need it. I have bought several half-inch sockets because I could not find one!
ReplyDeleteOh my......that's all I have to say.
