It was probably just 10 or so years ago when I asked Lady Magnon what they were. She looked at me with despair, and rolled her eyes into that 'what an idiot' mode.
OK, so now I know (they're just hair dryers, right?). But I still don't understand why it's necessary to sit underneath them for half the day.... or do women's hairdressers charge by the hour?
Well they were very elegant and it was the days where women maybe had more time..our local hairdresser has one and occasionally they sit Mum under it but most do blow dries now,get you in and out and fill the chair, in the old days it seemed it took all day to "get a do".times change and I must say I don't think i could have sat still long enough lol.
ReplyDeleteAre you telling me that these things no longer exist? You can see how out of date I am!
ReplyDeleteNo they still exist here in little old Aberdeen, just not everyone uses them.Like I said sometimes they put Mum under one...as she has her hair set in rollers but most people have blow dried hair now...you out of date never!!!
ReplyDeleteI knew what they were from an early age - my sister was a hair-dresser when I was a kid, and we had one at home!
ReplyDeleteI have the bills from my mothers hair dresser sent to me. It is a car payment! But she won't leave the house unless the hair is just so. "Oh, what would the ladies at bridge club say".
ReplyDeleteThey still exist in my neck of the woods. It's why women are smarter than men. We get special infusions.
ReplyDeleteHi Cro, I received an email today that I thought would interest you about a wonderful old gentleman and his car,I however have no idea how to put it across for you to read,I have sent it by email to Molly and explained it was for you to look at thinking perhaps she may have your email as she has followed your blog for some time...hope this is making sense, anyway she may have better knowledge of blogland if there is a way for you to see it,I just thought it would interest you.
ReplyDeleteActually we just tell men that they are hair dryers. In actual fact we receive messages from the home planet through tiny receivers inside the helmets. At least once a month all women are expected to check in and receive their orders.
