She'd phoned to say that she'd landed at Gatwick, and I was expecting Lady M at any moment, so I lit a cosy fire.
Having been out in Thailand for 3 weeks, I presumed she was used to warmer weather than we're having here at the moment.
Welcome home Lady M; I'll make you a cup of Tea. I've missed you!
If we have a fire it is like that one. Otherwise I huddle around a radiator! I hope Lady M appreciated the trouble you went to?
ReplyDeleteChopping wood all morning!
DeleteLADY MAGNON: "Oh my darling Cro! How I have missed your tender smile and the mischievous twinkle in your eyes. The way you sing 'The Red Flag' each morning when you rise at 5am and the trumpet blasts from your rear end... but mostly, I must confess, I have missed Billy!"
ReplyDeleteYou have the scene perfectly. Billy is still wondering who she is!
DeleteAww, you are so romantic. I hope Lady M appreciates you.
ReplyDeleteI hope so too.
DeleteWhat a warm welcome. Lady M must have felt welcomed indeed. With tea and crumpets?
ReplyDeleteNo crumpets I'm afraid, just toast and jam.
DeleteGosh, it seems like she's only been gone 5 minutes! What a lovely welcome home.
ReplyDeleteIt seems like a long time to me, but it's good to have her home.
DeleteIt's so nice that the flame still burns brightly. x
ReplyDeleteMy oldest (Kimbo) is at our home in France, but he's having proper fires!
DeleteVery happy Lady M has returned safe and sound. We'll also be sitting around the same version of a fire tomorrow as they're predicting up to 12 inches of snow! It will be a good day to make some of those lovely cheese crackers.
ReplyDeleteIt's raining here; not a lot, but enough to be annoying. Good luck with the biscuits, I think I still have some frozen dough in the freezer!
DeleteGlad to hear she is nearly home.
ReplyDeleteShe's well and truly home now, and having a good sleep. She was exhausted.
DeleteAhwwww …… what a lovely welcome home for Lady M …… what is the welcome home dinner going to be ? XXXX
ReplyDeleteFried Salmon steaks, chips, and peas. A classic Friday night dinner.
DeleteWelcome home Lady M.
ReplyDeleteTravel can be tiring and returning home is always a great feeling.
She's relaxed now; settling down to a well deserved G & T.
DeleteHa ha - I'm sure that will warm her up no end.
ReplyDeleteA cozy fire and a cup of tea would be what I would want when returning home. You did good.
