The world's population is estimated to be around 8.2 Billion, out of which just a small handful of men cannot behave themselves. They are a bunch of total idiots and warmongers.
Putin, general secretary Xi, some Ayatollah or other, and Kim ' baby face' Jong Un (plus a few irrational terrorist group leaders), seem to think they have the right to involve the rest of us in their (mostly Communist) expansionist policies by killing people they don't like.
Well, I for one don't want any part in it, so if they really insist on letting off big bombs, would they please do it on their own soil, and kill their own people. Don't exercise your hang-ups on the rest of us peace-loving folk.
I hear that those charming mullahs in Iran, are now threatening the USA, the UK, and France (I can't escape). Don't those Iranian Shia Muslims believe in peace, sanctity of life, or even the freedom of thought? Obviously not!
One of the most bizarre revelations of the current Iran/Israel conflict is that many Iranians are actually supporting Netanyahu. They want their repressive regime to fall, and they don't wish to see their country destroyed. Perhaps one massive collective assault on Tehran would bring Khomeini to his senses, and he'd raise his white flag. I hear that Iranians have even been spotted shouting "Death to Ayatollah".
As I learned on Day 1 of my Officer Training course; 'know your enemy, go in hard, go in strong'! That's the only way to get this conflict over and done with quickly.

ReplyDeleteI do understand - and agree with - your general sentiment: Who doesn't want peace? Not least women. Mothers don't go through the pain of child birth and joy of love for their children to provide canon fodder. Yet war has always been with us. Think back to the beginning of time. God threw Adam and Eve out of paradise; hardly a charitable act, is it? Then Adam and Eve began to procreate. Cain slays his brother Abel. Please don't mistake the above as Bible "nonsense". The Bible's stories are there for a reason. Not to be taken literally, but metaphorically. Nothing to do with religion either.
The world is at simmering point. And just like in 1933 many walk straight into the trap. You know what fills me with a hollow laugh of disdain and shows you all there is to know? America actually supplied (sold) Hitler with weapons. And so it is to this day. Weapons are big business.
It's a huge subject, Cro. One we need to keep in perspective. In the end what is in our power is to look out for each other in the vicinity; look out for our next of kin, our neighbours, be generous to those who flee their countries' regime. And remember Schiller's Ode to Joy which Beethoven set to music (ninth symphony). All humans will be brothers. HA! One can but dream.

Like most people, I am fed-up with the few who try to make our lives difficult. I hate all the propaganda lies that surround wars. And, like you, I hate that we send our young men to be killed in the name of some nonsense that doesn't even concern them.

ReplyDeleteHe's surrounded by people who want his country and people to be annihilated. If he didn't show force he'd be letting down his own people. Some may think that 'force' is a bit strong, but his opponents know what they need to do for him to stop.
