I think it also used to be sold as American quick cook (it isn't) rice. It is slightly beige in colour, rather than white. I don't know what else to call it. My own tomato preserves are in a different room with all my other home preserves. I use the freezers mostly for meat, but like you I do have raspberries, blackberries, etc, all frozen.
